I have a couple of Partagas Salamones and a few Cuaba Diademas but other than that I don't think I've ever bought anything other than a typical parejo.

I'm not sure why I'm unattracted to pointy ends.

What specific cigars provide an utterly distinct flavor in this shape?

Cuaba Salomones and Divinos. Anything in Cuaba is fairly unique.

For NCs, Fuente makes some GREAT figurados. Short story near the top of the list. Delicious.

they can also allow you smoke a larger ring gauge cigar without feeling like you are wrapping your mouth around a fire hydrant.

Bolivar Poderosos-long lasting refined Bolivar profile with strength the whole way through.

Dip No. 2-is awesome with sweet spices. Not for everyone, but one of my favorite figurados

I love them and will chew on one for a good part of the day. I was always turned onto them because they are more often than not, the cigars that were smoked by characters in old film noir movies and specifically, the prick who ran the card game in "The Man with the Golden Arm". They harken back to the day when men were men, smoking was allowed everywhere, and when you stopped into a cigar store to grab one, it was of Cuban origin.

I really like the Cuaba Divinos and the Tradicionales and to me they have a distinct peanut taste to them when smoked but like I said, I more often than not don't smoke them but chew on them and get my nicotine from them that way.

To the poster above, I don't think those two cigars mentioned are considered true figurados, but pyramides but I could be wrong.

Also Oliva Melanios are quite nice IMO

I've never liked the mouthfeel of a figurado in general. Perfectos like Cuaba and the Party Presidente are a slight exception since it's less expansive from the tip. I just prefer parejos.

That doesn't mean I avoid figurados, either. I smoke plenty of BBFs and VR Unicos. And I do think they're very beautiful and classic looking shapes.

What I am missing ?.Everything

For example try a BBF or a nice MC#2

You won't look back IMHO

What you are missing is the delivery of concentrated flavor.

The smoke from the larger ring gauge burn surface is concentrated through the narrower mouthpiece to deliver intenser aromas and a more forceful smoke.

I've always been a big fan of the Dominican preferidos from La Aurora. Love the quality of the roll. Some really nice flavors and great smokes.

I agree with you , especially the Ruby edition.

Love the tactile feel of a Perfecto in the hand.

Ramon Allones Celestiales Fino is perfect.

Cuaba Distinguidos elegant and distinctive in terms of flavour. Brilliant.

I need to try some. The only ones I've had were Short Stories and a couple Johny-O's. I see some Cuabas in the future. Those lil AF's are great smokes though. I usually didn't bother with the nipple though and just cut it off.

Really? I love the nipples.

Smoked a couple Emeralds recently, and it was the first time I've tasted dried apricot in a cigar. Delicious.

wish they would make more figurados.

Like Rob said I like the feel and look of them.

Have been enjoying the recent Partagas Presedentes. I've heard some say it reminds them of the old school partagas flavor.

Pointy ends is the facetious answer.

In reality, all the above regarding flavour and feel, plus the bonus of the intellectual knowledge that you're smoking something which is very hard to roll.
