Put them forward...The 20-35 minute Habanos that few talk about but that you enjoy.

I raise this because I have been enjoying a great box of Upmann Epicures. 35x 110 Short Panetela. Full flavoured (nutty shortbread). No real complexity, not mean't to be. Perfect with a coffee.

To keep the suggestions on track.....the cigar must be under 40 gauge.

Hopefully the suggestions will provide some new winter smoking options for some of you party.gif

I generally grab a Boli PC, Upmann PC or PLPC ..... and then lay down to sleep the remainder that I didn't have time to finish.

I treat it like a beautiful meal - once I'm satisfied, I'll stop. Just because there is more there doesn't mean I have to keep eating.

As far as what I like about them - in short time frames I love a beautiful full bodied smoke. Something that makes me pay attention! And a nice mouth coating finish. I love that!

Edit: re-reading, I see that PC are excluded by RG. So like Rossco, I've for nuthin!

Well, if 40rg is inclusive, Montecristo No.5. If not..... i got nuthin'. And to further not adhere to the set guidelines, I'd venture to say that length might play as much a part as girth. And if that is not enough, I'm not sure I'd smoke a cigar simply to smoke a cigar - like a cigarette.

Have a great day!

There's a few to choose from...

http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/list.aspx?&specialtype=Current_Production;&commonname=;Short_Panetela;Slim_Panetela;Small_Panetela;&includeimages=True&sortorder=noorder

If I could get me hands on a box of Cohiba Exquisitos (a 36 rg x 125 mm Small Panetela) I truly would be a happy man as these still have the classic Cohiba flavour profile (grass/hay, honey, vanilla, cream etc) despite the fact that only two leaves are used for the blend.

I must say, I've enjoyed some cracker Por Larranaga Panatelas, full of that classic caramel flavour, despite the short-filler tobacco used. Unfortunately, some I've tried have had construction issues, but you come to expect this from lower ring gauge 'cheap and cheerfuls' (as lower ring gauge cigars are harder to roll).

H upmann half corona usually lays 35 minutes. There's been some misses in the box I had (sourced before I knew about this place) but overall pleasant cigar.

Monte media corona, while young, gave me those classic Monte flavors. 30 minutes, great construction and didn't get any harshness until last puff or two.

I have all the current production tres petit coronas & they're all great. Also a few discon. lines that are equally good.

I agree on the Monte Joyitas & have got through 3 boxes, need to buy more. The Cuaba Divinos is another good example. The Punch Margarita is another.

Being in the UK these are the staple diet for an outdoor smoker whatever season.

The upmann coronas junior are decent. Had one a while back which was unbelievably rich and flavourful.

Been in Bali for the last week.... very very humid, tried a Monte 2 and it struggled... it really took on the humidity (absorbed)

So Monte medio tempo. Correct pronunciation not sure .... loving the little suckers... and glad I brought a box along... as I am picking one off every couple of hours

Good flavours and a good 30 min time frame.... as I am starting to sweat buy the end .

Much prefer these over the upmann half corona

Even minutos take me 45 minutes, so I'd have to say the Partagas Chico/Quintero Puritos

Same here. I've recently been turned on to the puritos too, To be honest I didn't have much hope at first but they have surprised me. Quick, tasty and CHEAP smokes. No construction issues either.

Por Larranaga Montecarlos and Panetelas are my favorites.

R&J Julietas aren't bad either.

Upmann Half Corona's are great, but the Fonseca KDT's are great for that time period too. For the money they are wonderful!
