El Presidente Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I had a question this morning on the Montecristo Petit Number 2. In all fairness I can't say too many good things but I am looking for some positives on this cigar to balance out my own assessment. I will refer them to this thread. Are there members who do really enjoy this cigar and what do you enjoy about it? Please let me know.....good, bad or otherwise.
santela Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 After watching your review I have absolutely zero desire to try it.
Destino30 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Based on the previous sentiments I'm almost embarrassed to say that I like these cigars. The MC Petit 2 that I have are from 2013 and, frankly, they have been a joy to smoke. My palate is not as developed as most of yours but I find these to exhibit the traits of the larger MC that I've had albeit in an obviously smaller package. I find them to lack nothing other than size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
El Presidente Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 That is great to hear! Everyones palate is indeed different and they just don't strike the right chord with mine. I would be thrilled if it has a loyal following.
cigcars Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Tried it the first thing I got the chance. Wasn't too thrilled with it, so sorry to say. Guess it'll need a little aging, perhaps?
Drguano Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I have a great mate who goes home to Lebanon every summer. This year he returned and told me that he smoked boxes of these little Montecristos with the pointy ends. I had completely forgotten about the Petit No. 2. He loved them. If you have some good boxes, I might have a market for them.
JoeyGunz Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Smoked a couple from OR did nothing for me and I'm a big Monte fan. Same with the DE how are people getting on with these now?
RijkdeGooier Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 In my limited experience they are slowly developing from hardly any taste when they came out to developing a profile by now. I've tried 6 over the 2,5-3 years they have been out.
busdriver Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I have had some really good examples which, to my tastes, have been exactly what they should be.....a 40 minute version of the No.2. I enjoy them for a great montecristo hit without the 1 hour 15 minutes it takes me to smoke its big brother. This is based on the 5-6 I have smoked. With all the flack they have taken on this forum, I too am almost embarrassed to say I enjoy them. I am emboldened to be able to express my opinion here though by the very accepting attitude that this forum promotes. To each their own! 1

I had about 30 sticks last 60 days It's very good Very different than regular number 2 Reich smooth and fun I hope they will keep producing the same quality Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk 1
hoyo74 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 How do I buy cigars from here Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
JohnS Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I just don't know about the Petit Number 2. This isn't because of how it smokes, rather it's because of its dimensions. You see, by the time I clip the cap at the head of this cigar, I figure I'm smoking a cigar that is virtually a twin of the Montecristo Petit Edmundo if you gauge it by ring size and length. So, for that reason, I've just preferred the Petit Edmundo.
canadianbeaver Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 We have had 2 boxes from here and love them! You have to let them calm down for 8-10 months in the wine fridge. So, there you go. Cheers! 1

melies Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Absolutely hated them when they came out, for me it was one of the worst Habanos releases ever... then after I ignored my 10ct for more than a year (forgot the code on the box) I had one about a month or 2 and tried it... Time really had an effect on this one. I have really liked this cigar to the point that I'm ordering another box to see if its anything like the one I'm smoking.
ccman Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I have smoked one per month for the past year in hopes they would improve, but they haven't and I have nothing positive to say about them....except, I did dry box one for a couple of days and would rate it 82/83. Personally, I wouldn't pay $4 a stick for more. I'm a Monte fan, but these are bad news for me personally.
HarveyBoulevard Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I will respond in a few years when I bust open a couple boxes stashed away. Codes are ARG FEB 14 & ARG JUL 14. No idea at this point but time will tell.
El Presidente Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Cheers for the input. It has been very helpful 2
anacostiakat Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Tried a box last year that were from OCT13. Not a fan. . .
