They have been around now since 2011 (how time flies!)

There was quite a buzz when they were first released with many members here going long and hard.

How are those original release smoking?

How are recent purchases smoking?

How would you describe the flavour of the E2?

have they maintained quality over the years?

Lot's of questions I know but this is one of those cigars that has disappeared off the radar.

One suspects Habanos had some high hopes for this cigar in terms of sales I very much doubt it has been realised.

Your thoughts.....

Fantastic as a cigar, cumbersome at current price. It would absolutely destroy market share if it were priced in line to compete directly with Monte Edmundos.

It’s a huge hit. I scored a fabulous psp box from MSU JUN 18 and they have been reliably gorgeous. Rich and full flavoured yet quite smooth and gentle, not as demanding of time as the Lusitania but si

These are the boxes I have: 25-Partagas Serie E No.2 UBM ABR 19 15-Partagas Serie E No.2 SMA NOV 18 5(2)-Partagas Serie E No.2 LMB MAR 19 5(2)-Partagas Serie E No.2 UAO MAR 19

These are some of the prettiest cigars ever. I stocked up on quite a few boxes, but my early sampling has been promising, but still needed to even out some occasional harshness, and all of my E2's have been moved to the back and put to sleep for a while. Dangolf started a thread and I tacked on two reviews to it:

http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114323&hl=partagas

I liked the bread and hay, chocolate, the syrupy smoke (on one stick, the other looked like it was competing for a clean air award), but some youthful bit and weird flavors would pop in every so often.

Pretty to look at, almost as nice to smoke, hoping it will improve! :cigar:

I really liked this one a LOT. I had a couple sitting in my humidor for quite some time and never lit one up until 1-2 weeks ago. A box is definitely on my "To-Buy" list…..really curious to see how these will do in 1-3 years….I'm also surprised that nobody has talked about these as much…..

I have only smoked a box of five from AVR 12. The cigars were gorgeous (hand picked), very good, and tasted basically like a larger and stronger D4. I loved them but found them a bit too strong to be included in my rotation.

Obviously, when I read the reviews here and there, I have been lucky with that box!

TBH I haven't smoked one yet. I've always been interested, but always find something I would rather buy.

Yes and yes. For the longest time though they were wayyy overpriced. 5's still are, that is to sell any volume. My 2011s smoking very nice allready.

Didnt like them at first. At all.

Loved a few I had a few months after release. Every one I have had since has been stellar.

Have not had one in over a year though.

Like MK says, just priced all wrong...

One of my favorite cigars!!

Smithy got me onto these when they were first released, I called Czar HQ and had a long chat.

I love these, nice floral, cedar-y smoke, hint of cocoa which is what I love.

I still have close to a box left, when I jumped onto these I started out with a couple boxes of 5, they all went within months and thats saying something because I don't normally smoke so many cigars. :)

I haven't had one now for around 8 months, so will have to try one out this weekend. ok.gif

Has it been that long since they were released!? 2011? WOW, time has flown indeed.

As others have said, I didnt care for them initially but have come to love them since

Maybe I had some bad ones early on or my tastes changed but I am definitely on board with these now

only had one a year and a half ago and it was good but not memorable, solid burn, ash, construction but if they were to compete with edmundos no contest as was said

way down on my partagas buy list just above lusis and p2s

Bought a box from LCDH in Havana. Smoked my first after a nice lunch in Trinidad, whilst watching some pretty chicas from a wedding party who kept riding pass the verandah I was having lunch at and enjoying my mojitos. Enjoyed the cigar then and have enjoyed them since.

Had a couple a few months ago and were just average.

Haven't tried any since and not planning on getting any unless the price becomes more appealing.

really good cigar. These have evolved pretty good. Strong, full bodied cigar. I was sceptical at the beginning but now I keep on smoking them regulary.

Only have a box of 5 have yet to crack. 13 feb. code so I'm slowly getting there to try the first. Can't wait.

Usually I smoke what I feel to in the moment but this is scheduled for a "partagas session" what I will do with a good friend of mine in april in Hungary. Partagas mf(12), shorts(13), serie d especial (10), and 898(06) will be on the table with the E2(13)

They just don´t do it for me. Do´n´t get wrong, it is a really good cigar, but they do not taste like I expect a Partagas to taste. There is something in the profile that doesn´t add up with what I want to find in a Partagas.
