Well RH is really where you like to smoke your Cigars at. 65% for CCs usually and 70 % for NCs. A Dry Climate might require maybe 69% for CCs because when you take them out they dry out slowly so depends at what point you want to smoke them. If you are in a Humid Climate you might want to go dryer as they would soak up Humidity while they are outside.

The best percentage is the one that your cigars taste good and feel good to you. Most people are anywhere from 60% to 70%, some even go higher or lower than that range. You are the master of your own destiny.

Yup what LA said. the 65 and 70 are good starting points and go from there. To be quite Honest I like my humidity at 67% and once I'm ready to smoke a couple of hours later my Cigars are just right

My NC fridge varies from 65%-70% depending on amibient air temp

My CC fridge sits around the 60%-62% mark and they all smoke well

I went with the much lower RH for my cubans after some advice from Piggy

I've noticed a lot of people set their CC storage humidity lower than their NC humidity, why is that? Is there some scientific reason behind this or just personal preference?

ANy luck with Electronic Humidors ? Boveda Packs dont work long term and in the end they cost me a ton.

Boveda packs are not cost efficient at all - I assume you've looked into the standard beads (Heartfelt, or other). My CC coolidor hangs around 63-65% using 1 lb of beads broken up into 5-6 little pantyhose mesh "balls".

Who are the shrink wrap aficionados on this site? I searched but didn't find any posts on the topic.

Have a 1500 count cabinet which I generally keep at 65-66% RH. I also have about 40oz of HCM beads scattered throughout to help with the stabilization.

I don't like my cigars as wet as they are when kept around 70-72%, but again it's personal taste. Although, the higher the moisture content, the higher chances are of getting cigar beetles.

Wow! For the longest time I had mine at 70%. Maybe last year lowered it a bit to 67% or so...but really surprised to see people talking 60% (or even less). I am also curious to hear the idea behind people storing their NC at a higher percentage. I have also heard of the CC storage humi being kept at a higher % in relation to the smoking humi. Thoughts anyone?
