CaptainQuintero Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 We all know what we don't like to see, but I'm more of a glass half full type of guy. What would you love to see being released? Personally: -Ditch the EL wrappers, they were a nice change but the novelty for me has firmly worn off....a long time ago. -Por Larranaga Churchill -RyJ Laguito #2 -Cuaba Corona (Parejo please, don't bother with figurados if you aren't going to roll them properly -ERDM Culebra -HDM Culebra -LGC Corona Extra -Montecristo Churchill -Punch Laguito #2 -Ramon Allones Corona -SLR laguito #1 -An EL release of the Italian RE La Escepcion panetela, No EL wrapper (as mentioned above) and the same blend as the RE, just make more of them. -LFDC corona gorda -Troya robusto (handmade)
maverickdrinker Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 If we are blue skying Ramon Allones 109 or lancero in a regular wrapper BHK in a 109 or lancero format
cigarsnlife Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I would love to see a new trinidad EL ( but not in that ridiculous short robusto vitola) maybe a trinidad grand corona
geosmoke Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I would love to see a new trinidad EL ( but not in that ridiculous short robusto vitola) maybe a trinidad grand corona x2. Trinidad Grand corona or Churchill would be nice
Fuzz AI Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Don't bother bringing out a "new" LE cigar. How about instead reviving a classic discontinued cigar as a historical release. Each year the new LE can be a discontinued cigar from 5-10 years ago.
dangolf18 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I'd like to see some EL Salomones or a BHK EL (with a small RG). As for REs, would like to see just about any Salomones or Lanceros/ Especiales No.2. A RA Salomones would be epic.

Or Quintero Churchills (handmade of course)? regards Lars
Wil Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Of course bring back some discontinued cigars, but as that's unlikely to happen... I'd go for a H. Upmann Laguito No. 2.
Ginseng Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Bolivar lanceros with a (Coronas Juniors + Royal Coronas) blend in culebras format. Either that, or a Monte Open Nub. Wilkey
dicko Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Por larranaga and Ramon allones corona gordas and dalias. Love mid range ring guages And completely agree, ditch the EL wrappers, they all have that Maduro choc flavour, which is good for a while, but as OP says... Over it! Not that I can afford EL's haha

Love mid range ring guages And completely agree, ditch the EL wrappers, they all have that Maduro choc flavour, which is good for a while, but as OP says... Over it! Not that I can afford EL's haha RA Corona Gordas were a LCDH release in 2010 or 11. Good cigars. I last bought ELs in 2008. While I enjoyed some early EL releases, too many later ones had a common EL taste. IMHO, not worth the extra money. New RE? Please bring back Bolivar Corona.
cigcars Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 As much as I adore Por Larranagas, the big fat UK Regionals they had were like smoking a big fat empty air stick If a corona gorda size I do hope at least it will have the same substance, body and wonderful, WONDERFUL dream tones of aroma, flavor and honeyed brandywine Heavenliness they are fantasized over!

I actually have half a box of superiores in my humidor so should have remembered that :-p completely agree on the bolivar corona! Never had the coronas (got some CE's luckily) but wish I could try! Cheers bassman
PigFish Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 First mate I would like to say that I don't want to rain on your thread with a bunch of hate about EL cigars! That is too easy for me, and not at all fun for the thread starter. I do have thoughts on the matter however; the drum is loose and off timber, I figure I will add my 2 cts worth anyway. The EL is simply death for a cigar! And frankly with Tabacuba being happy and adept in the role of crucifier, they have no skills in that of resurrection, not for the proletariat smoker anyway. I therefore would not wish the EL program on any of my favorite shapes or sizes. What I like is considered by the masterminds as less than commercially viable. Packaging them in haste, poorly constructing them, adding a second band and re-boxing them at 2 to 3 times the price is not cigar wisdom... it is commercial madness. If the original intent of killing a wonderful cigar is in that they did not sell in sufficient numbers in the first place, at a given price, re-boxing them and trebling the price is a nail in the coffin of said cigar. I cannot see it. My wish list includes the reasonable resurrection of many dead cigars. Changing them, calling them EL's, with all the errors, pomp and circumstance will provide for nothing but disappointment for me. I say give the majority what they want! If they want these crappy cigars, 50 plus ring, with elite boxes and gold bands... I say let them eat cake! I don't smoke them, I won't buy them. Let them do exactly what they are doing. Destroying the taste and heritage of the Cuban cigar is not my wish. With the combination of deletions as a component to the EL model, I see nothing but death for the Cuban cigar as a result. The Cuban cigar as I see it anyway. Cheers! -Piggy
Smallclub Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 As much as I adore Por Larranagas, the big fat UK Regionals they had were like smoking a big fat empty air stick The original release Magnificos (from 07) was certainly NOT a "empty air stick". The black laquered Magnificos humidor released in 2009 is an other story, though…
dcse Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Stop producing LEs and REs and introduce standard production Bolivar and Ramon Allones Lanceros instead!
dvickery Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 bolivar...42 x 7 1/2...only if true to the 42rg bolivar legacy...if another el/er dark wrapper/molasses flavoured cigar...then no thanks. derrek
dB69 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Brands: Partagas, Ramon Allones, Bolivar. Vitolas: Coronas, Cervantes, Parejos. One or more combinations of the above would be a nice surprise. Anything goes in the world of 50+ RGs.
winelover Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 As CQ mentioned, a monte churchill. Skinnies aside, churchills are one of the most satisfying vitolas IMO.
westg Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Bolivar/ Roman Allones Lancero..Would love to see a Behike Double Corona or just an EL Cohiba DC .Yes make them truly limited. Seeing multiple box sales from 2010 EL globally makes you question how many are actually being produced. However I can't help being drawn into purchasing EL production cigars, which leeds me into asking FOH any of the 520's on the way ?.
Charltonc Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Bring back SLR lonsdales.Diplomatico in a corona gorda.
khomeinist Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I am not too interested in the RE program but I like some of your ideas CQ. ERDM culebra! RJ Laguito 2 Por Larranaga long format (would like long filler delicado personally) LGC anything Trinidad double corona Fun to think about. I can't wait for the liberalization of this industry. I would live to own ERDM and bring this blend to its full potential ( just to name one possibility).
Smallclub Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I'd like — a cervantes or a corona grande made with a liga based on the El Principe or the Oficios (ie stronger and sweeter than the La Punta/La Fuerza); — a cervantes or a corona grande made with a liga based on that of the Reyes; — a slim long RA panatela (like a longer Ramonitas) and, can you please keep the PLPCs in your escaparates a few years before you put them on the market…
