just picked up 6 bottles of 2000 clos des goisses for A$700 (my chrissy present to myself). i really shouldn't but normal price here would be well over A$2000 for the 6.

and don't ask, i understand that there are all gone. you might find some 01 or 03 at similar prices (the 03 will be a bit more) but they are both far inferior wines to the 00.

Arrived just now from the island

My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Picked up a bottle of the Zacapa Centenario Edicion Negra on my way through LAX.

Nice, how does it differ from RZ 23?

Supposed to be a dark rum with smokey, woody and spicy notes. Aged in double charred American oak casks. Not as sweet as the 23.

Definitely a dessert whisky. I have a sweet tooth and I love whisky, and I love citrus. So this ticked a bunch of boxes.

I am very fond of it!

Rare older Whisky's quite often drop a cork...
This Glenury Royal is beyond phenomenal, seriously !

The 8 is very good. Very similar to the 16, with a shorter finish and bolder initial heat and flavours.

Thank you!

I thought it was just okay. Not bad but I prefer the 16 yr for about the same.

Nectar D'Or.  Haven't had a bottle of this in a while.  I've had a few creamy cigars recently that I thought it would pair nicely with.
