Getting caught up in the spirit of other buffalo at the "hole" I thought that it might be time for even more gratuitous boasting cigar pics. I have not decided if I am going to bust this box and smoke one today or not.... Mmmmm, maybe! These are some lighter skinned natives of the dank recesses of the Piggy vaults, more from the Partagas SdC tribe. I wish you could smell them!

I looked and for a Oct 03 SdC No.1, these were my tasting notes:

"The du Connaisseur #1 began with a rich earthiness and leather tones. The draw was firm but not tight. It presented the sweet white peppery Partagas spiciness and large volumes of smoke. I tasted slight hints of cedar and almost a creamy spice at some points toward the middle which bordered on honey sweetness. Developing floral tones and a woodiness combining with the “Old World Partagas” spice made the balance of this cigar a treasure to enjoy. The ash was a firm charcoal gray and held on for 1.5-2 inches in-between taps and had a lazer sharp burn. The rich tobacco flavors, building peppery spice with a subtle hint of lemon or citrus in the background along with the earthiness and rich leather is why it is called a Connaisseur. Only those that will take their time to let this cigar develop on its own and not rush it can appreciate it. I found that by releasing the smoke through my nose brought the flavors to life. The du Connaisseur #1 was never harsh, but pure straight forward Partagas harmony. I tasted a hint of sea salt toward the finish. I loved the rich classical flavors. The complexity although subtle was deep and ever changing."

That is what a Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 1 should taste like. Smoked slowly, it should take approximately 1.5 hours to appreciate.

i don't see posting pics of personal habanos as boasting at all. if anything, all who view it live vicariously through that person. it's like we imagine smoking what u post. like porn pix i guess......Leaf Lover

Sir Pigfish: The 2003 Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 1 are the bomb. One of my very, very favorite cigars. Similar to the No. 2, except that the extra length translates into a greater range in terms of body and complexity. It takes you on quite a "journey".

Accurate, and if I may say, mouthwatering description!!! I will have to pull one out this w/e.

Beautiful. I've been wanting to try a delicados; what's the flavour profile, typical Partagas? Any draw issues?

A very appropriate answer to your fair question has been answered by my friend Tampa; could not have said it better. The whole series represents (IMHO) the very best of Cuban cigars.
