On the front porch of my hotel in South Carolina.

Yesterday I kept seeing a woman in my hallway that looked like a disheveled Wanda Sykes, in sweatpants and a t-shirt with no makeup and hair all messy. I thought it was just someone that looks like her, because, why would Wanda Sykes be at a University hotel in Columbia South Carolina? Turns out, it is Wanda Sykes.

I also got it as a gift, once I tried it in the humidor after a few years, I was very pleasantly surprised. I was there for a week on vacation with my family this year and I bought a few boxes...

No. She said hi to me a couple of times and I said hi back. My daughter spoke to her in the elevator this morning but I wasn’t with her.

I had to go to YouTube and re-watch that episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm when Larry kept accidentally doing racist stuff, and Wanda was always there to witness it. Really funny stuff.

When Habanos S.A. was first offered up as a 50% joint-partnership in the early 2000s, there were a number of discontinuations of low-selling vitolas in each brand soon after. The H.Upmann marca saw a number of vitolas discontinued at that time, and since then only the Monarcas in 2009, the Petit Coronas in 2017 and Coronas Minor in 2019. I would say that of those three discontinued since 2002/3, the Monarcas and Petit Coronas are much missed by cigar enthusiats.

So, the H.Upmann Petit Coronas that I have on-hand are from the last box codes released to market, in 2015 and 2016. At the moment, I am quite deliberately aging them long-term because I know from experience that these will develop a wondrous cream texture which I'm looking for, to various degrees, around the ten year mark or later. By comparison, even my seven year old H.Upmann Half Coronas are very different. (I.e. no cream texture, more traditional Upmann leather and coffee flavours settle with time).

I am wondering if you are referring to the H.Upmann Coronas Major in this comparison, instead? (Or something similar that is in current regular production.)

Funny enough, Wanda Sykes is an alum of my undergraduate alma mater. I'll be using the term "dishelved Wanda Sykes" more often. lol

I’ve had these in one of my singles drawers for at least 5 years.First half very vegetal,second half leather with a sweet honey like finish.I’m satisfied with having 10 or 15 to age and smoke every once in a while for a change of pace.

Another Punch ER I was lukewarm on out of the gate with extremely high expectations. I have not smoked one in a while and this cigar is banger. Will be fun to see how these and the 898s evolve.

Running around like a maniac all day, I was finally able to sit down and catch my breath. Picked a humble R&J Petit Royales SMA Jun ‘18 to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary due to time constraints and weather, but boy am I glad I did!

Right off the bat the unmistakable twang, with a bright cherry background. Nubbed down to 42 mins and the final third transitioned to a slightly woody and charred cherry. The wife sneaked a few puffs, I’m always grateful for her being understanding of my hobbies.
