Popular Post yuppie Posted yesterday at 12:49 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 12:49 AM I had high hopes for this 1999 SLR Corona, but I was severely disappointed. I got these in the mail 10 days ago and thought that was enough rest to try lighting one up. I probably should have listened to Dave the Dude and rinsed it under the sink for a few seconds! Hot air, cardboard. Not. Good. I wonder if these were improperly stored or I'm expecting too much from 25 years of age. Past their prime? I'll put them lower in the tower and rinse the next one before trying again. 5 1 9

Haven’t had the other vitolas but have heard none are worth it other than Distinguidos. The Salomones are definitely worth consideration. The only problem is that they are rare as hen’s teeth. 3 hours ago, Ford2112 said: This is just my opinion but I like the exclusivos and divinos. I will have to hunt down some of these as it’s the only Cuaba Vitola I havent had. Sometimes the little ones can be tent pegs but it is an under the radar marque for sure. I had a Solomon once. I remember liking the one I had. Never had any construction or draw issues with the Distinguidos or Salomones. Only reason I gave up on the Divinos and Exclusivos, as I truly enjoy the flavour profile of this particular marca. Now if you can get your hands on a Diadema, those were simply spectacular. 6 2

A few boxes here and there, I don’t think it’s the fact that its past its prime. I just don’t think they were using the best tobacco during that period. I have had stuff from early '70s, '80s and '90s up to '98. Everything is still smoking perfectly. You could try humidifying them separately in a bag. See if the humidification brings up the flavor. 6 1

Smooth, refined with subtle nuances and complexity. Creamy mouthfeel with a gentle sweetness throughout the smoking experience. Very well balanced cigar. And the overall construction is impeccable. Hope this helps. 4

Popular Post yuppie Posted 16 hours ago Popular Post Posted 16 hours ago UEB DIC 17 PL Coronas 5ta Avenida Is it my imagination or do dark wrappers hit different than light wrappers? Last year, I had this same cigar, same date code, but it came from a different box and the wrapper was significantly lighter. this one is still an awesome smoke, but it just seems a little bit more rich with a slight hint of spice that’s more prominent than the other one that I had. This morning I had a PLPC from 2017 as well with very dark wrappers. It wasn’t like my other box of lighter colored wrapper PLPC at all. Unless I’m hallucinating, I think that I’m more fond of lighter colored wrappers and the sweetness and subtlety, the lightness that they offer. Just me? 16
Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted 16 hours ago Popular Post Posted 16 hours ago BR 109 (Fall 2025 purchase) - IMO this issue of the 109 is evolving quite nicely. While generally mild, the opening third has its own set of transitions -- and the 3rd/3rd has built in intensity. Construction remains perfect. Retros are great, a big part of the fun. Thanks good people of Bond Roberts! Looking forward to more time on these. 14

Popular Post Sudzdaddy Posted 5 hours ago Popular Post Posted 5 hours ago H. Upmann Sir Winston, SSU ENE 02. Punch produced an easy draw with a clean burn-line and clouds of wispy, white smoke. Retro provided a nasal burn with minerally accents. Creamy cedar, rich leather, and a coffee ramp in the end that barely reached medium, overall an impeccable selection. 12 1
