El Presidente Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away The Cohiba Robusto is a legend. It is a pricey legend but one I would always find a quid for, one I would always find room for. To me a well aged and blended CORO is cigar art. Is it mandatory for your humidor? hell no. I enjoy my Juan Lopez 2 and Choix Supreme almost/just as much at a 1/3rd of the price. However when a CORO is on, it is a 96+ point cigar and few JLS2 and CX can match that perfection stride for stride. Today: Cohiba Robusto. Do you enjoy them? Fresh or aged? If aged...how long before they generally hit their stride. Have you noticed a change over the years? Let's kick off the discussion
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted October 3, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2025 Along with the Esplendidos the most consistent Cohiba for my money. I’ve been smoking them from the ‘90s to about 2019’s. Wouldn’t waste one less than 5 years old. Unique and wonderful full flavored savory sweet magic. I don’t ever recall a bad one. King of Robustos. As I sit here in the gorgeous North Dakota fall air savoring a magnificent ‘03 DC EL I’m thinking I should have bought more CoRo’s instead of wasting my money on these 😆 That’s how good they are to me. 8 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted October 3, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2025 I feel @Lucas Buck has summed things up nicely here. I'm in accord with him. What has piqued my curiosity in regard to this topic is whether our members have acquired any post-Cigarmegaddon (i.e. after July 2022). I too last acquired mine before 2020. 8 1
Popular Post Li Bai Posted October 3, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2025 I've only smoked a handful of fresh ones when I started taking cigars seriously but I was in no rush and Cigarmageddon came so...in many ways I'm glad I didn't get a chance to fall in love with these. 5

Is the CORO a magnificent cigar? Of course it is. Is it worth the current price? No to me. The few I have will be rationed out slowly. 6
Popular Post chasy Posted October 3, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2025 I find the CoRo to be two-faced. One face is cream, grass, and golden honey. This version is one of the best cigars available. Worth every penny. The other face is a good Robusto, but missing the golden honey. This version is very overpriced for what it is. As such, I actually find the CoRo blend to be inconsistent as it is a toss up in whether I get that honey flavor and the cigar is either worth it / way overpriced based on which flavors show up. 8
Popular Post tbelle7 Posted October 3, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2025 I've had great ones. I have good ones. I've never had a bad one. I am relatively new to all this, so I have only known the current price structure. As such, I don't have the hang ups that some do about what they used to cost vs. what they cost today. Personally, I would rather pay for what I like than spend less but end up wanting more. My observation is that the flavor changes wildly for the better from a 1 year example to a 3-5 year example. 5 1
PuroDiario Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Always loved the CoRo — nearly flawless, and the one I’ve stocked the deepest. It’s tied to family memories and still hits every time. The price has crept up more than I’d like, but honestly, that’s happening across the board these days. 3
Popular Post gormag38 Posted October 3, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2025 Love the CoRos. Never had a true 'bad' one. Some okay, some good and some divine. The 2019s I've got are just now really starting to shine, albeit there are some ugly ducklings in the box. 2018s are about the same but without the ugly ducklings. I was curious about the newer stock and traded a few 18s for 23s. I heard BOTLs talk about how they 'were good to go' after a few months down. That has not been my experience with the Clasica line but wanted to have some examples to try regardless. Haven't smoked any yet and probably won't for at least another year+ if I'm being honest. I'd be curious to hear if any other members have found the post-2022 stock to be better than the past 5-10 years. 5
qs210 Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Ive had a few really special CoRos. Never had a bad one. 2
Boxer31 Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 CoRos great young or old. Only had a couple duds many yrs ago. Sadly, I probably won’t be buying anymore once my last box and half are gone. Used to grab them without thinking, now it’s a decision. 1 1
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted October 5, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2025 Other than Siglo 6 and Siglo 2, these are top of the Cohiba heap for me. When on, they are the best robusto that there is! 7
Popular Post Nevrknow Posted October 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 6, 2025 When younger and dumber, smoked one rott. Mistake. Left them alone for 6 years and now wish I had gone deeper! 7

zeedubbya Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Clearly a great cigar, but does need 3-5 years to shine like others have said. Before the price absurdity, it was the cigar I would share with friends (who were just getting into hobby, not Newbies) to show them what a great, well aged Cohiba could be like. Huge "wow" factor for people who are on the cusp of diving deep. I can recall several friends saying, “Oh wow, I never knew a cigar could be like this.” Too bad it won’t be happening any more. What I have left will be reserved for me and maybe my close “experienced” cigar smoking friends. Which is a crying shame, and the cost HSA is paying for future loyalty. I won’t be buying more, and I won’t recommend to friends for 60 bucks a stick. 4
Popular Post Puros Y Vino Posted October 8, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2025 I split a 2010 box with someone way back. I enjoy them but don't find they live up to the hype. I'll take PSD4's over them anyday. 5
comptalk Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I feel aged a few years is best. I bought a few earlier in the year, and to be honest, the one I smoked wasn't very tasty. They are now sitting in the humidor and need to relax and rest. I also have a box of Maduro 5 Magicos from 2013 which I forgot about. I should probably try a cigar one of these days. They are just so damn expensive, it's literally burning hundred dollar bills. 4
MrBirdman Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I prefer Medio Siglo to CoRo, even if they’re a bit short. I like CoRo, but there are at least half a dozen Cohiba I like more, some of which are cheaper. 3
NYGuido Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 I have a few 2023 boxes and have started smoking out of one--they're fantastic. Also have a box each from 2019 and 2018, but I haven't smoked from them yet (got them on BR and they're juuuuuust about acclimated). 2
Fugu Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 CORO’s problem - they’re being made all over the place and blending and rolling quality is all over the place. Has been and still is. It’s a gamble. For me, current price of admission is forbidding just for gambling. That being said, last one I had was fantastic. 4
