Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Is anyone watching it? Is anyone actually rooting for Jake Paul. I really hope Iron Mike somehow finds a way to knock him out. The fact that it is even happening just blows my mind. By that I mean the significant age difference. A fifty eight year old up against a 27 year old. The world has actually gone quite mad. It is a sanctioned professional fight not and exhibition.  

Give us your thoughts in FOH land and who you are actually barracking for. I have now doubt  something controversial will happen.

Is it included with just the regular Netflix monthly subscription? I'd love to see some of the old Mike even for a few minutes. If he can, not sure many can stand against that.

I hope it's on Netflix. Reminds me of growing up on construction sites. Yes, the 20 something on site was a bad ass. Lots of bar fight wins. Kind of a bully to most guys who just wanted to work.

But (ya'll know I always say this   ) , there's always a but. There ALWAYS came a time when he would jerk one of the old timers around a bit too much. Next thing you know they go out behind the building and the old timer always came back first. Unharmed.

Should be a great fight judging on my past experiences.

I agree and it's kinda sad and unfortunate. He doesn't need the money with his marijuana medicinal lines and farms  and vested interests in psychedelics, media, social media and various appearances etc etc.

Always rooted for iron Mike. Met him a few times in ‘85 and was lucky to see his first 3 fights. Also saw him a few more times that yr. And then a few in ‘86. His power was unreal. Always wanted to see a championship fight in MSG or Vegas. Maybe someday or UFC.

That would have been amazing. I never get tired of looking at his early days footage. Fights and training just mind blowing. If his opponents were not not asleep they were sitting on the canvas and it was wtf just happened. Do you give him any chance?

I can't give money to these exhibition matches. I sure hope Tyson can be the old beast of the 80s. But I don't know a scenario where a 58 year old heavy weight should be in the ring with a 26 year old heavy weight. The amount of steroids Paul takes must be enough to fill a small house, because no one gets that much bigger in a manner of 3-4 years. I'll wake up and watch the highlights if Mike wins, otherwise I don't want to see it.

I resent that statement! I'm 58, and not too old for anything. 🤣 In all seriousness, I think Tyson is going to win, he still looks like a badass bar room brawler. Should be interesting no matter the outcome.

He was only a couple yrs younger than we were and I always remembered massive his hand and forearm was. I thought we were “athletes” - lol. It was prob 20 yrs after that I met someone with a handshake as powerful. 
Paul has gotten better but not sure how he can do taking a shot from Tyson. Gloves will take some sting out. Can’t see the ref letting Mike get hit too much without a stop. Even with that - I have to root for Tyson.

Kind of agree. Tyson in the day was unstoppable. I need to find that one fight, I think the opponents name started with a T. I think. He wasn't fighting Mike, he was trying to beat him off of him. Hilarious to watch.

Same here. Like the Toby Keith song. I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Kind of like a friend of mine. Retired Army. Who knows how many years of American karate. Entire bedroom of his house FULL of trophies. And I mean full. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, but he's like the man they called the ant. Across the room? Say anything you want and he'll blow you off. If he's within 6 ft? He'll slide in and ask you what you said. I suggest you start apologizing. At one time, 3rd in the nation in breaking. Nicest guy you'd ever meet. As long as your nice. You go stupid? Just watch me. When I grab my drink and back away? You really should go with me. LOL

He's 68 now. No way in hell would I mess with him. Yes, I call him SIR.

Tyson looks good in practice but I don't think he could take any punch at his age. He hasn't been hit yet so let's see.

I agree, I do not think he can take a punch any more, he is 58! I think this will end in a sad way and reflect badly on Paul. I hope I'm wrong.

Totally agree. This is actually a pro fight however. It actually goes on each fighters pro record. Just madness.

I just hope Tyson doesn't get hurt. In a street fight, I'd still root for him but on the ring there are rules and a 58 yo's heart isn't the same.

Even then, he might very well land some meteor punches in the first two rounds and beat Paul. If I were Paul, I would make the fight last, the more it lasts, the thinner Mike's chances to win are.

Those events shouldn't happen imho.

I go cycling with a retired local pro boxer and he is a big Tyson fan. We are both of similar age as Tyson and he says any hit to head you really feel it at 50+. He's concerned for Tyson and says Paul is the real deal.

I hope Tyson can pull it off. I hope for a real fight that goes several rounds.

I looked at some of the footage of Tyson at the weigh in, what a beast for 58. But as others have said I hope he is not badly hurt. I think this just discredits Jack Paul not only as boxer but as a person as well. That said he gets 60 million of the 90 million on offer. Mike gets 30. Based on what they have actually achieved in boxing shouldn't it be the other way around.

I have never smoked Gurkha before. This may be the first one I will try to find today at local shops in honor of Tyson before the fight.

I would've thought 50-50 split.

The sell Tyson branded marijuana locally. It's just a licensing deal as no interstate importation of cannabis is allowed in our state.

 I don't know much about Paul but I read earlier that he's only had 10 fights with just one being against a professional boxer, and he lost that one?

I saw the weigh in earlier and Mike slapped Paul after he stood on Mike's toes; Paul didn't even see it coming or react until Mike had been and gone. Unless it's totally staged (Decent chance right?) it will be interesting to see.
