joeypots Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 I love to downhill ski. I’ve been at it since I was in 2nd grade and in the last 12 years I’ve been able to ski many of the iconic resorts in North America. I often think about moving to the big mountains in the winter. This years mega deep snow in many areas has made for a fantastic winter playground that will last well into summer in some places. It’s not without hazards, though. I’ve been stuck face up twice with a buddy close by. It’s no joke. This video scared me. Big time. It’s hard to watch. 1
99call Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 f-that!.......god imagine dying that slow quite hyperthermic death, with the occasional sound of people passing through the still trees, and not being able to do a thing about it. That guy should buy a lottery ticket 2
El Hoze Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Man is that guy f’in lucky. I snowboard alone in deep gladed areas frequently so seeing that guy is definitely sobering! 2
Jack Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Not that it makes this any less scary, but this guy fell into a tree well, something we were warned about as children during lessons. Fresh powder, ungroomed trails, back country skiing - all can dangerous if you are only familiar with normal ski resort conditions. 3
Wookie Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Tree wells are the real deal. Scarier than avalanches. 3

Hammer Smokin' Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 an "E-Friend" of mine from an online Phish message board took that footage. Small world. Strange to see this video blowing up and going viral. 1
PuroDiario Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Buddy system always in these conditions…even with that still a real hazard…such a great job on the rescue, incredible.
