medzikone Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 I would just leave it here without any comment https://www.foxnews.com/us/san-francisco-launches-guaranteed-income-program-transgender-people https://www.giftincome.org/_files/ugd/40a234_fa065a88cf9b481bbae6e47c5598270c.pdf 1
NSXCIGAR Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 The best part is there's no verification so anyone can claim to be trans and apply. Of course, these days you can also be any race and gender you want. I've been a black lesbian for application purposes for years. 2
JohnS Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 To add some context, I was waiting with my wife to catch a flight from Athens to Sydney in early October, 2022 when I met some Americans from the East Coast (Boston, Massachusetts and Tampa, Florida) at a very, very busy airport cafe. We were fortunate to be sitting down and drinking coffee together when my wife and I shared how much we enjoyed our first trip to the US a little over ten years ago. When we discussed our visit to San Francisco, the reaction was almost immediate... "It's changed so much, it's not like it used to be". I admit that I am paraphrasing the conversation a little, and the reaction is a generalisation of course, but the instant reply was telling. The reply still left an impression on me as I very much enjoyed San Francisco, apart from numerous people asking me for change for the week around the CBD in April 2011. I don't know, there's reputable members that live there (or near-abouts) that can possibly provide a better context as to what's led Mayor London Breed to announce this?
SpecialK Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 I'm shocked at all the different classifications.. well kind of amused also... what a freakshow.. 1
KCCubano Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 I have family in California. When they come back to Kansas City at Xmas the main topic at the dinner table is the crazy shit like this they do out there! Mind blowing.

I certainly don't recall a market for an app that tracks human feces on the sidewalks 15 years ago, so yes, I would say it's not what it used to be. New York as well. As late as 2008 it was considered one of the safest cities in the US. Now, not so much. 9 hours ago, JohnS said: I don't know, there's reputable members that live there (or near-abouts) that can possibly provide a better context as to what's led Mayor London Breed to announce this? I'm a few hundred miles south but I'm sure it's nothing more than woke pandering. SF is considered the LGBT capital of the universe so anything to promote and encourage it. They can get away with a lot because of how much money there is there. There are people who will never leave no matter how nuts it gets. 1
Popular Post Lamboinee Posted November 19, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 19, 2022 No one likes me no matter what I am. I was raised in CA. Now I live in the South. We left because my parents were old, taxes were high, and water (literally) was becoming scarce for a lot of people. But, there are great people everywhere. I miss California and I appreciate Tennessee. Gender or no gender or all the genders these places are equally crazy. I suspect its the same everywhere and I can probably name something equally ridiculous from each of our glorious 47 states. Only other countries are crazier than what we do here in the states. I'm kidding. But I am worried that humans keep trying to differentiate themselves from one another by focusing on the absurd and outrageous. There are so many great things in San Fran. As a youth, I saw my first playboy magazine in the gift shop of the Fairmont hotel and I remember encountering my first truly not-well homeless person later that same day as I boarded a classic trolley car. Two major milestones that made me appreciate...reading....as well as my own relatively sane and lucky lot in life. It's a city of glorious highs and horrible lows and it's always had that dichotomy. Like the rest of heavily populated areas of Earth. I also remember when the price of monthly parking spots in SF entered the $0,0000 comma club and you could still encounter Joe Montana out in public (not wearing sketchers). I don't care where you are, there are crazy people doing crazy things. But there's beauty everywhere. The thing that I see differentiates this generation of Franciscoians and their predecessors is the influx of specific types of money and affluence. Whether good or bad, the tech crew in SF has brought a new generation of $$$ and affluenza that has made the Rice taste less like Roni. I hope you enjoyed SF. You should visit Tennessee next where there's equally crazy shit that is marketed as less crazy shit simply cause it's not from the "Land of Fruits and Nuts". Meanwhile....check out this chicken-wire sculpture of Tennessee's beloved Ms. Dolly Parton that was actually made by someone from SF who's probably a looney tune. It takes all kinds. 6 hours ago, KCCubano said: When they come back to Kansas City at Xmas the main topic at the dinner table My lovely wife is from Kansas. I have similar experiences at her parents' house in Attica. It's because there's nothing to talk about in Kansas other than what it might be like to live in the the Kansas City that's actually not in Kansas. Well that, and the fact that there's a lot more cotton being farmed in Kansas now. Oh, and Wichita....they build planes there. But that's it. If they didn't talk smack on me and California we'd run out of stuff to say in about 7 minutes. I love them and thier State though. 9

I love Kansas, I lived in the Leawood Area for about 4 years until graduation from uni, people were humble, nice and I had nothing but a positive experience overall, very family friendly state. I drove all the way down from BC. Canada, and I will choose Kansas any day. have you tired Joes BBQ? (ze-man). I miss that place. 2

I live on Missouri side in Lees Summit and my sister lives on Kansas side in Overland Park. When I go over to visit I normally stop at Diebels in Leawood to pickup a Padron 1964 and Joes BBQ is right there as well near Town Center. Ive been to most of the Joes in KC Metro area.

Its also out in the middle of nowhere about 4 hrs from KC. I would imagine there would not be much to talk about! Years ago on my 1st job I had to do a relief assignment at our Wichita branch and it had several clients from Attica.

Diebels at the corner was my go-to cigar shop, I remember it was next to a barber shop. the guys over there are great. an Italian restaurant named North Italia is nearby, the best parmesan chicken by far. KC is indeed the jewel of the Midwest.

There was a guy who worked there for years but dont recall his name now. I would always take him a cuban minuto. He now works at the Diebels on the Plaza.

No. But I have tried Fiorello's (sp) jack stack bbq and it was amazing. I've been to Kansas City several times on business and it's a really fun town. Feels kinda big, a few quicky unique areas, but it's not a sprawling metropolis. The small towns where my wife's family live have some charm, but mostly it's just deer hunting and sprawling vast spaces of space. 6 hours ago, KCCubano said: . Honestly, you can tell that it used to be a charming little town. But everyone moved away or is elderly or strung out. Mayberry seems like a mega city. But, you can pretty much drive ATVs wherever you want. And here's tons of deer hunting ranches. Also, 7 windmills. Donnie q be chasing them down.

Alcatraz is there holding Sean Connery in anticipation of The Rock II. Sean is adamant that he not trans. So there's one. 1
