Since the price increase 8 months ago, I have become very active on Bond Roberts with aged and vintage boxes of cc in my collection. That increased revenue can buy whacko priced favorites for smoking I figure.

Other than that, I have been trading with fellow known collectors based on current values. We will not pay it, we just list it in emails with photos.

Love it!

I woke up this morning to a host of PM's/E-mails in relation to a major online retailer who has now acknowledged that they have inadvertently sold some fake CORO and VI. Given that the vendor has made

I'm embarrassed to say that it was my box, Rob. The price was too-good-to-be-true at the time and stock was so and I pulled the trigger in hesitation.  I got suspicious with the serial code vs. b

Well... My take is they probably knew. Why? Because I've been approached by them a year ago. I have a decent following on IG and they asked me if I was ok to tag them and say i bought my stuff at thei

I have also been “rolling over” my stock, selling a lot of aged stuff on BR and taking the opportunity to stock up on some “cheapies” (relatively speaking). I sometimes wonder if I will regret starting now, if prices will only get worse in years to come, but it seems as good a time as any.

Glad I use only one source for over the past 15 years, and that's our hosts here at FOH.  Also, for me,  whenever I get new boxes delivered, they go straight to my humidor for a few months, then I vacuum seal them and forget about them for many years.  I'll usually open them up, take a quick look at them, take a deep whiff, then off to a long sleep they go.  If there was a problem with how they taste, I wouldn't realize it until a long time down the road.

BR suspended any young Cohiba listings, which i find to be a great move.

This is an interesting point. @Elpresidente have you had any issues raised from buyers on any recent Cohiba/BHK stock?  I imagine this is near impossible to police having never seen the boxes in person yourselves.

A few weeks ago I sold a box of 2017 Cohiba Esplendidos.  Buyer reached out to me yesterday asking where I sourced them (despite it being on the listing anyhow).  I sent him  a copy of the receipt (luckily I bought it via the carts and got a receipt).  But I knew that was coming after what happened.  He seems fine, i think.

BR is seeking clarification on the range of anomolies as well as seeking clarification from Habanos/Distributors directly.

Keen to hear how that pans out!

Interesting that one of the Euro, reddit approved vendors posted, "Furthermore we do not sell, nor ship, Cuban cigars to U.S. citizens." after the MF scandal.

today's two hour episode of Lounge Lizards podcast featuring @Cigar Salute diving into the investigation, backstory and much more about my fake box of Cohibas that caused quite a stir in late September.

I am enjoying the podcast--but for me the highlight was the comment about the twenty one year old Opus X.  I have some ancient ones as well and they are exactly as described.

I haven't shared the pod on the forum here before, as I'm not one for self-promoting, but I wanted to share today's two hour episode of Lounge Lizards podcast featuring @Cigar Salute diving into the investigation, backstory and much more about my fake box of Cohibas that caused quite a stir in late September.

@bambambam and @Cigar Salute , thank you both, very much enjoyed your podcast.  Cheers 🙂

My wife came by while I was listening to the podcast and I told her that I was listening to "some of the few people on the planet who know more about cigars than I do".     😀

It was a great discussion in every way--looking forward to your future efforts.

@Ford2112 Montefortuna is now sending emails assuring lost clients that they will double-triple-check all Cohiba orders and take pictures, but it isn't going to get them back on the reddit vendor list any time soon by the look of things.

Good luck with that. I'm a one and done. But in this case a none and done. 🤣

Once you get caught selling a fake product, virtually impossible to repair that reputation, period. Whether cigars, Rolex timepieces, or the like.

Someone just recently posted some Cohiba soft packs that were counterfeit. I agree it is unlikely they will ever return to the "trusted vendors" list.

If anyone plans on purchasing a black light to check the UV Stamp on the warranty seal make sure you are getting the 365 NV wavelength light over the 395 NV wavelength. The difference is dramatic.

Fact right here gentlemen ( and ladies ) !

The ones you can get at petco for finding dog pee in your carpet are good for this purpose.
