I actually had that Darmok & Jalad t-shirt. Bought it long ago from TeePublic. Unfortunately, I got snagged on something and tore it shortly after.

You're right, and I discovered after cutting even a Prominentes that you get a 49 x 97mm cigar which is pretty much a PSD6 and I hate PSD6 size. 

You look at that Prominentes and you think the thing is massive and you can get two decent-sized sticks out of it but you can't.

Assuming you have a band that is tight but slides easy enough.

A wrapper unravelling from the foot is just as bad as the head. And if you cut it you have the issue in both sticks. 

There wasn't cigar glue back in the 90s so I suppose that could make it more feasible today but as I noted above the only cigar I would consider long enough to cut in half would be a Monte A.

Yep, think only small cigarillos/cigars. Mostly just so i can hang out with friends that smoke cigs or if time is an issue

You cut cigarillos in half? Now that's a short smoke. I think you should try minis. Even I who can make a Puritos last 25+ mins can only get about 10 out of a mini.

Yes I have. It was on a boat trip with my friend that did not have a cigar. I cutted in halve a double corona of HdM and said him : If Simon has done why should I not try..

We both had a decent pleasant smoke.

 

 

 

* In my trip to Cuba in 2011 an early morning alongside the Malecon waiting a bus with Simon Chase for going to Pinar del Rio for the Simposio on Tobacco he asked me for a small cigar as we could not smoke in the bus.

With his British aplomb  he takes out  from his pocket a churchill of R&J and cutted it in halve with my big surprise.

He lit halve and the other halve he stored in his shirt pocket.

Me : Simon why you do this?

Simon : Gino  believe me, it's just tobacco. If it's good ...it's going to be good in any case.

 

 

I miss my long talks and discussion with Simon on tobacco and tobacco world.

Yup, I like the Partagas clubs. Cut in half they're like 3-5 min which is about the same as cigs.

A few years ago Cuba Customs was very strict about only allowing 20 unbanded lose cigars in your carry on luggage. So I had some A's done with pigtails at both ends. Those were easily converted to 40 robusto sized cigars. One would unravel at times but that was easily fixed. John
