wildduk Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 New member here got scammed on some fake boxes. Cohibe sublimes and Genios. Can anyone give some specifics on why they know these are fakes. Need to confront seller. Confirmed fake by another site. Thx.
Salomones Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 There is no Cohiba EL in 2018.Boxsealnumbers starts with 6 '0' - clear Signal for Fakes Gesendet von meinem moto g(9) plus mit Tapatalk

rckymtn22 Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 They would have the new bands if they came out in 2018.

wildduk Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 Jfestrelabr I know they are fake. Please read my post. I’m looking for some specific details to take to the seller. Not just a blanket,” these are fake” statement. Thx
Fuzz Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 2018 banded Cohiba Sublimes? Yeah, right. There's your obvious answer.
Bijan Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 Stamps.on first box are way way off. Has Nov 25 and they never have day of the month. Doesn't have factory. Has wrapper shade stamp which hasn't been used since probably the 80s. And a few other stamps that shouldn't be there. Edit: same with second box
wildduk Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 Thx all. How about the cigar itself? Not an expert but it doesn’t look like it has the “triple” cap that all Cubans have….. land what about the box seal number mentioned above. They are supposed to have 6 zeroes at the beginning???
Fuzz Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 No point in asking about the cigars when the boxes and bands are obvious fakes. The cigars could be anything. Suggest you have a read about packaging on Cuban Cigar Website. 4

It seems like you're fishing for tips to make the next set more accurate. Those are embarrassing fakes, everything about them is wrong. The box, bands, stamps, stickers, wrappers, everything. Wait, almost everything, the only thing missing is a glass top. 6
wildduk Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 Understood and I will quit asking. I just spent a lot on these 2 boxes and want to be able to explain to my “friend” why these are fake and to attempt to get my money back…. He swears these are being shipped from “Cuba”. Said something like pharmaceutical shipments is how his contact gets them out. Maybe he is being scammed or maybe he is scamming me…… I do have another box ordered before I found this site……. I will post pics when I receive Not fishing for improvements, but obviously cannot prove. Just upset I got scammed. However I did smoke most of them and they were smokable.

Mickey D Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Also, other than the 2018 EL on the Cohiba, the first thing that caught my eye on the Cohiba band was the tails of the C in Cuba passing through the loops.

I would also recommend that you try some regular production cigars instead of going towards limited editions and Cohibas. You mentioned that you smoked most of them already so clearly you were enjoying them. I would take it as an experience and try to find more reliable vendors for your next cuban experiences. 1
Nino Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 I've seen some truly epic BS Fake boxes in my time - these boxes certainly beat all and are close to win the Fake Habano World BS Competition.... Applause !! 2
mcicvara Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 I've developed another test for real/fake Cubans: if you can easily remove a band - it's a fake. Cubans always have a ton of glue on the band. 🤣 1
