Its been several months between smokes for me. I made a piss poor home choice and rented a place with a balcony that is a "non smoking building"... bastards. In any case i wont be smoking for another few months anywah but what would you smoke to get back into it?

I've got some LGC #2, Monte Media coronas, RyJ Petite royales, some RyJ churchills, a few Sir Davids even, some other odds and ends.

Also i have a handful of non cubans such as AF SHort stories, some Opus Lost city or something, Liga t9, JSK tyranical Buc and maybe a few others.

What would you pick? Have any experience in long breaks away from cigars and getting back into it?

Over the years I've often gone many months without smoking a cigar. It's been a while recently - weather, the feeling that if I have time to sit for a cigar, I've time for other things (don't read anything into that). So, I'm looking forward to finally smoking my first Hayala Nudie N3 (I've had them since mid November 2019). I also wish to re-visit the RA Estupendos 2007, after some discussion here with KG. I've never had any "problem" coming back no matter how long it's been - like a great friend you've not seen in a while.

Pick whichever one that will put a smile on your face. You’ve had the best attitude with what you’ve been through. You’ve been inspirational for me and I don’t even know you. You deserve the one that makes you happiest for sure.

Two weeks ago, I had my first cigar in 2 months. Chose a Monte MC to dip my toe into the water. May have been a short smoke, but it was bloody good.

Yeah, but now that you mentioned the MMC, you just know that he'll go for something else! ?

If you ask me, MMC and Petit Royales are perfect for those pesky non-smoking balconies ?

just smoked my first cigar last week after about 3-4 months. tore the muscles on the sides of my throat working out last year and then when they were almost healed, i re-tore them going grocery shopping earlier this year.?  i went with a JLS2 and was not disappointed, i think a long break makes almost any cigar you smoke taste amazing. i would personally go with the RyJ churchill out of what you listed.

How do you know if you are in a non smoking building and if it applies to your own balcony? Surely its just for the public areas?

It would be in the Strata By-Laws. As a renter, you would be advised what is permissible. Some apartments won't even let you use a small gas bbq on your balcony.

But the MMC is perfect for Mus. It will be like smoking a corona for him....

I took a 5 year cigar gap and started smoking cigars recently in April (thanks to COVID pandemic and working from home) . AF short stories got me back in the game smoothly..

I have some beautiful des Dieux for you when you come on over .

This happens to me often. Life gets busy. When I finally resume I usually grab something small and easy like a PC. I have boxes of big stuff from years ago I bought when I was smoking more that just sits there. A project of mine is to dig back into some of the big boys.

Gotcha, thanks, it's a bit more flexible in HK, they don't normally specify in that the contract.

You know the funniest thing? Smoking inside your apartment is totally allowed according to strata. But the balcony is apparently "common property" So you cant smoke there. But i wont smoke indoors and cant as its prohibited in my rental agreement.

Yeah, Strata by-laws and rental agreements are not necessarily aligned. There are no by-laws in my investment property that prevents smoking in your apartment or common property, but I ban it in my rental agreement. More apartments are banning smoking in your own apartment, as there are complaints of smoke and odours traveling through ducting and walls.

Open your balcony door & smoke right there. Position a strong fan to help all the smoke out. You're arguably inside the apartment / on the balcony at the same time! :cigar:

I took a couple years break from cigars due to a couple life events. A couple months ago I jumped back in with a CoRo.
