you've just been told, the end of the world is in two days. nothing you can do. and you are completely isolated. won't get to see or talk to anyone.

the good news is that you are able to enjoy two cigars, one each day. on one day, you'll have your choice of one cigar from your own collection. on the other, any cigar ever made. can be from your collection or not. so what are your choices?

even better, each day you get your choice of a spirit and wine, one of each. these do not have to be with the cigar so you are not trying to match them. same principle, one day it is a wine and spirit from your own collection. the other day it is whatever you want, your collection or not.

now, i need to go and have a think about this.

I suppose Day 1 is smoke my Taboada.

Day 2 I wouldn’t mind another of those TOS 2015 Bushidos from the Xmas sampler.

And a tall, cool Chinotto to pair them with. Charlize likes Chinotto.

Day one is a GR SW with Glenfarclas 39 YO from 1978.

Day two is a Dunhill Don Candido Seleccion Suprema No. 501 from the 1960’s with a 1963 Taylor’s Vintage Port.

*I've still got a Che pyramide, a Behike 56, and my last Partagas Culebra that I wasn't touching. I suppose I'd smoke the Behike 56. For my spirits it would be Blanco/Silver Tequila. The second day - LEMME AT 'EM...A DISCONTINUED DUNHILL CHURCHILL ESTUPENDOS!!! :hungry::hungry::hungry:  My last drink would be Gekkekein Sake wine. :buddies:

Day 1 would be my JUN 12 Montecristo No.2. The last of a box marking my wedding month and year. I'm currently saving it for our 10th anniversary.  I would also crack the bottle of  Mauro Molino barolo conca 2011 that I'm saving for my 10th wedding anniversary. I'm not a big spirit guy but I'd have a couple fingers of the Glenlivet 12 year.

Day 2 would also be a Diplomaticos Bushido. I've been intrigued by that cigar ever since I became aware of it a couple years ago and I've wanted to try one since but it is out of my price range. Is chinato considered a spirit or wine? I'll call it wine I guess. A couple fingers of Plantation 20th Anniversary rum.

If I only get one, might as well be the mid-2000 Monte A and break out the Isla de Tesoro

Day two I’m going with another of my own and hope it is perfection like the last one from the box. MdO 4 from 2017.

Day two spirit? May as well be another Cuban rum. And may as well be the Havana Club 1519; was enamored with it being there for the 500 anniversary.

Day 1 (mine) -

Cigar - cohiba 1966 EL11 (best cigar I think I've ever had)

Spirit - tempted to go with my Brora30 yo (diageo special release 2004) but it's already an open bottle. So maybe I'll open my signatory vintage 1983 port Ellen

Wine - I don't collect my own wine so let me steal one from my dad's collection - 1982 Chateau Latour. The 1990 was spectacular when we opened it for my sister's (first) housewarming and I'm keen to try the 82 as well.

Day 2 (any) - let's go wild here -

Cigar - my first thought was a siglo 6 GR, as I've never had the coin to have a R or GR before. But then I thought of having an ultra-aged pre-revolution cigar instead. I can't name specifics because I'm not educated in those, but I just want to try one out of curiosity

Spirit - that 1967 Samaroli Laphroaig

Wine - 1900 Chateau Latour

Day 1 (from my collection):

Cigar - RA Grandes

Spirit (whisky) - Hanyu Two of Spades 1991 Cask #477

Wine - Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 1971

Day 2:

Cigar - Tang Monarch

Spirit (whisky) - I'll be toasting @Meklown with that 1967 Samaroli Laphroaig.  Just the thought of 2 bottles being opened simultaneously for a last dram brings a tear to my eye/a smile on my face

Wine - 1978 DRC

From my collection a Sir Winston as everyone seems to love them. Though I have not had the pleasure.

From any collection, a Cohiba out of Castro’s old humidor.

I don’t drink so I’ll pair both with a ice cold can of Coke.

Just 2 cigars??! It’s the end of the freakin world for Christ’s sake! I’d be smokin non-stop.

Okay. First day, from my humble collection, I’d bust into my unopened box of Sir Winstons, and wash it down with a bottle of Blanton’s Single Barrel.

Very hungover the next day, I expect to be greeted by a Behike 54 and a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 Family Reserve.

Adios Amigos. It’s been real. ?

Day one

Cigar - Montecristo A (2003)

Drink - I'd enjoy my last decent beer, so a Shipyard IPA would be the tipple of choice.

Day two

Cigar - Upmann Mag 56 LE

Drink - Lagavulin 12 yr old. Just sublime, what a way to finish.

Chinotto is actually more of a soda! It's an Italian citrus fruit, and as far as I know, 3 Italian companies, including Pellegrino, make a Chinotto soda. They're hard to find outside Italy, but most restaurants in Italy have it (Italian delis in the US often stock them). It's probably my favorite beverage to smoke certain types of cigars with -- the ones that don't pair with coffee usually go well with a cold Chinotto.

Love Chinotto.  BRIO and Pellegrino can be easily found in Canada.  As for its' base there might be citrus but a lot of the taste is floral and herbal.  To me it tastes like a derivative of an Italian liqueur whose name escapes me.  It definitely goes with cigars.  The colder the better!

I was wondering what you meant by chinotto but I was talking about barolo chinato.

I'll have to try chinotto though.?
