these days, as one gets older, one may have to get up once or twice during the evening. so how close i came, i do not want to know. but woke up this morning and hopped out of bed. looked down to see what the little black blob was next to my foot.

scorpion! was a bit wrapped up in lint and dust - must have been under the bed.

anyway, i tried to get as much of it off as i could and have put him in an old container i had for the last scorpion i had - i had it for about six years until i saw a david attenborough show saying they ate centipedes and would quickly kill them. i thought it might be a nice change from moths etc. so i popped a centipede which i found in the garden into the container. went back two minutes later and there were little bits of my scorpion all over the place. the 'bro was very very wrong. i need to fix the box up a bit if he survives.

Not sure what's more concerning. The scorpion or the amount of dust under your bed...

Time for a robo vacuum, Ken. Maybe you can set up a feeding time during a virtual herf.

OK, I clearly see a scorpion covered in lint...Gawd I hope all that other stuff isn’t from under your bed too! Not even sure what I’m looking at.

I've seen PETA commercials with animals that looked in better shape than that scorpion.  Is that the remnants of some big ass spider above him in the photo too?  I'd never fall asleep again if those critters were sharing my bedroom. ?

in fairness, there is about an inch between bed and floor. unless i get removalists in every time i want to clean under it, there will be dust.

the remnants of the spider etc, is from the box where the old one lived. it was the remains of the food for the last one. after he had drained them.

The fact that you hadn't gotten rid of the box with the desiccated spider carcass from when you had the "old one" is no less appalling.

it is a sealed tupperware type box that i had locked up and put away, just in case. it had got a bit humid and feral.

This could be an advertisement for a robot vacuum if ever I’ve seen one.

I'm so confused...this was next to your bed?  It looks like wet mud with bugs in it.  Do you sleep outside?

I see mud also. What's going on?
