Popular Post Habana Mike Posted April 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2020 I figured no time like the present as some of us may never get the chance to smoke again, or at least have to hold out for a while given the respiratory symptoms of COVID-19. A friend has come down with it and he's been off cigars a few days now. Hope he recovers well and safely. Pulled out my last Davi, petite corona from the '80s Soft smoke, light bodied. Cream, cedar and marshmallow. Perhaps a bit off its prime, still enjoyable. A- due to approaching expiration. Glad I smoked it when I did. 27 1

I like many have smoked them, and to be honest if someone asked me if a 2016 Fonseca no 1 was better or worse......well........I'm not sure how I would answer. I guess......so much is wrapped up in history and romance. The reality is, is that some cigars do gain extra points, just for solving a sense of mystery within a cigar smoker themselves......ie. bad or good, it's nice to have certain chapters solved and finished. 5
JohnS Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Thanks Mike for reviewing this cigar. I really appreciate it after we hat a chat about it on the FoH Virtual Chat room. ? 2
rcarlson Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Given the smokes you've been consuming during the big Stay Home, I'm going to keep an eye out for your return to the streets. I plan a little breakin' and enterin' to, you know, do my part to keep any more from "falling off." You've got a hell of a collection. 2

And that's why I use a UPS store for shipping!

That was what the cohiba anniversaries and behikes did for me. Thankfully I didn't have to pay for them, or the lesson would have been costly.
Vortigan Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 This tempts me very much to pull out and set fire to my one remaining ERDM Tainos that I've been keeping since God knows when, especially speaking as a frontline RN and when (at the time of writing) we're still an estimated two weeks away from the peak of this thing!! 2

Fire it up brother! No time like the present and all cigars do age out at some point. 1

Well, I know you're right! I'm sure I'll pick it up and put it back a couple of times, I'm sure I'll wince a little as I light it...I might even be tempted to say a few words in some kind of eulogy (insane?) but you're right. You just never know! "I realize I don't want to be a miser..." "Keep your more to receive your less, unimpressed by material excess..." "Get smart get down with the pow wow, never been a better time than right now"!! RHCP - Give It Away 1
Joeyjojo Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Such a gamble with ageing things, trying to work out the point of diminishing returns. I wonder how many folks enjoy cigars/wine etc so much, they don't consume them and end up hoarding stuff with cellars/humidors full of ghosts and shadows of what could have been? 1
