first, my sympathies to the good people who work at qantas and i hope both of you find better elsewhere.

after the debacle of last week - shuffled around, 25 minutes on hold, first woman could not even pronounce my name because now they use idiots in call centres from planet X to deal with their customers unless you ring sunday but then you'll spend 45 minutes on hold. for something they can do in 60 seconds. actually, they insist that you can do it on line but their site crashed for me every time i tried - god help their aircraft. five times, down it went.

again this week. just want to change seats in the same row. you'd think i wanted to redesign their planes. chaos. impossible.

i have lifetime gold status with these people  and get treated like a rabid dog.

i urge people to avoid these idiots if at all possible.

and note, you are requested by their auto-idiot to stay on for the survey. their staff have learnt not to put anyone through because all they get is complaints. so the imbeciles that run this crapheap sit in their offices collecting ridiculous salaries and think all is well.

worst airline on the planet.

Spirit Airlines has that dubious "honor" as the worst airline in the world - or on the planet. Just bring up any YouTube interview or especially one Shuler King's commentary and they'll make your Qantas people look like James Bond and his sophisticated enemies look like a combo of order and brains. And people keep using this airline too -   As Shuler King put it - after savaging them in a tirade of anger and frustration: "HELL yeah I'm usin' Spirit Airlines again...where else am I gonna get a ticket to South Africa for .75 cents?"

The highest paying jobs in India are telephone support gigs. I must say that over the last 2 decades they have gotten much better. I would much rather talk to one of them than get in a recursive loop with a machine. Damn those things drive me nuts! If I could do what I needed online, I wouldn't be calling! Even 80 year olds can Google nowadays. Sometimes you just have to deal with it...  Remember the days before speakerphones? Let me tell you kids... it was much worse than pooping without an iPhone.

Sadly these days, it seems failure and red tape is by design.   If you were to look at Quantas' share price, it had actually gained for the last five years, up until Coronavirus. It seems like whatever they were doing, was working.

Whether it be call centres that ring out for 30mins, that have no intention of picking up.   Or sinister government benefit departments that have created applications forms for people with genuine mental disabilities, so complex and laborious, that you would need a PHD to fill them out.       The general affect if the same.  It seems that modern trend for customer service is to make you feel so disempowered, (and that the competition is just as bad),  that you have to just swallow it, and meekly stay in line for more gruel to follow.

I sure love a good rant and an elegant one is even better. I don't know if your printed words matched the words in your head necessarily but your printed words were well done.

Add BA to the list.

Two cancellations on successive weekends from Berlin to London (2-hour flight).

First replacement flight was the next day and was 1 hour 40 mins late.

Second replacement was....wait for it.... 6 and a half hours late!!!

I am apparently entitled to no compensation whatsoever, as God got the blame for it being a bit windy. Quite how it was his fault completely escapes me since two other flights from Tegel to Heathrow during that 6.5 hour window he somewhat arbitrarily chose to leave alone.

I, too, am a Gold member.

The World’s Favourite Airline. ???

little option, ray.

With no offense meant to those in the commercial aviation industry, I have always thought commercial travel to be little more than cattle cars with wings. Having flown myself for flights under 1000 miles until I was about 40, I would rather put up with the noise and speed of my own aircraft than to be at the mercy of 'public transportation.' It is a control thing I guess.

I commute 400 miles (one way) every week to my project. I fly a nation carrier with a subbed (branded) local affiliate. It sucks! When I consider getting into and out of LAX, I could drive there in the same time! Still, I can get a shot of Baileys in a cup of awful coffee and sleep the ride away. That is my typical practice. Be patient, be pleasant, go to sleep!

It’s easy to be understanding of the airlines when a situation leads to bungled travel itineraries and customers just wanting to get to their destination. What is inexcusable is poor customer service. That said, most people get on an airplane less than once a year and unless you’re one of them, it pays dividends to be loyal as hell to a great airline if you fly more frequently. Airline status allows you to be treated like a human being when flying. Might as well ride alongside your bag under the airplane otherwise.

Is there any seasoned airline in the world that is offering better and more services now than it did two decades ago?  From the date I made my first commercial air trip (1970) up to now, the decline has been like a spiral into the abyss.

Try Spirit anywhere or American Airlines out of Miami.

Or Philly or Charlotte or American anyway else.

I would rather walk a mile over broken glass, than to speak with those idiots.

Virgin is by far my preferred airline. Good lounges. Good food options. Good crew. Good planes. Get service straight away on the phone though I’ve never had a problem to try it out other than for a last minute thing when my work flight got cancelled and that was no dramas.
