apoplexy. and beyond. how does this not break every gun rule you imposed?

It is an  article re Cigars and guns. The first that I have seen to be honest.

....no different to an article on Cuba or Cigars and US politics.  Often posted.

if there was an article on the Pope and Cigars......I would post that as well and it wouldn't breach the no religion rule :D

All good :cigar:

I’m just happy that Prez is scanning Shooting Illustrated, keeping his eyes peeled for relevant content for this forum.

I am all for freedom.  The old quote of I support gay couple getting married and shooting guns on their weed farm.

I think where guns and cigars correlate is enjoying that freedom can harm the freedom of others to avoid them.  Should I be able to smoke a cigar in my yard, yes.  Outside of an elemenatary school bus stop when class gets out, hell no.  Restrictions and regulations are necessary and can make sense.  Unfortunately with guns it's a moving target.  Handguns and rifles make sense for all the liberty arguments.  bump stocks, RPGs and high capacity magazines are fun but not worth the risk of anyone having.  I'm sure in 2 years handguns will be a no go as well.  Cross bows and homemade claymores are always a good alternative for the hobbyist once the government overreaches too far.

Same gray area argument can be made on weed, cigars, cigarettes, vaping, music, religion, guns, prostitution, construction hours, child labor, fuel emissions, even vaccines (although I have no respect for the antivax movement).  Its tough because I try to look at things objectively but when my hobby puts others lives, health or liberty in danger I have to rethink what I'm fighting for.

I love having a cigar in a bar or restaurant but completely understand that's not an option for me the majority of the time.

So, I guess I shouldn’t ever mention that I’m a card carrying NRA Benefactor Life member and a GOA lifer to @Ken Gargett?

Since the subject has been broached- does this mean we can post gun pics?  What if it’s a cigar pic and a gun happens to be in it?

I am an intolerant person for certain things, as are most of you. Simply lumping all intolerance together is ignorant and myopic.

Short answer is no because Rule 8 mentions inflammatory imagery and commentary.

What a refreshingly reasonable perspective. I should take after your example @Bucky McSwensen and try to be less emotional in my reactions.

Oh I knew the answer to that- was being irreverent.  Things don’t always comes across as intended via the keyboard.

I had to take issue with a statement in the third paragraph “both are best enjoyed outdoors”. That certainly isn’t true for cigar smoking.

Didn’t bother to read on after that.

I’m not into guns but found it an interesting article.

No dont do that!  If you truly saw my example in person you'd know I'm an insecure flip flopping trainwreck who runs his mouth too much.

Emotional reactions are good.  As long as they don't destroy the few loving relationships I have intact.  I remember having many heated discussions with people who vehemently disagree with me but respect my passion and opinions.  These have given us both more data points to come up with and recalibrate our views.  I used to look forward to the day when I have it all figured out but realized that's not a thing.  Now i eagerly look forward to being challenged so i can quickly recalibrate rinse and repeat.  Luckily for me not being content tends to be my comfort zone

Can’t tell what the guy in the first pic is smoking.  Looking at that ring gauge it’s apparent he’s got a theme going.  Those Desert Eagles are ridiculously large and I think he’s shooting the 50 AE.

God forbid one could see it as only an article

On the one side you have the regular skirts jumping up and down wringing their eyes of crocodile tears while screaming at the horror of it all. You would make a pentecostal preacher proud.

On the other side you have the architects of their own demise throwing gasoline on the embers.

The sensible centre just looks at it and shakes their heads in disbelief.  What a bunch of children.

It's an article. Live with it.

If you are to continue on this thread you focus on the article or nothing at all.

Leave your soap boxes at home. No one gives a flying fig.
