Kaptain Karl Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 My family is big on sparkling wine (Iron Horse Winery in particular) so I end up smoking a LOT of cigars with sparkling during the summer when I'm over at their place. It's my second favorite beverage to pair with a smoke (scotch being #1) What are your favorite cigars to pair with sparkling?
99call Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The UK's Gran Cano regional, has a light tangerine yeast/dough quality to it, that I believe would pair seamlessly with Champagne
bigguccisosa Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 My favorite is probably an aged PLMC. Otherwise I'll just reach for anything light such as Fonseca or Vegueros. 1
inter4alia Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I've never paired them but I'd like to try QdO 50 and Fonseca No. 1 with sparkling. I think the profiles would go well together.
Stump89 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 ERDM, LGC, Trinidad, QdO. I generally find these compliment sparkling wine and aren't overpowering.
Duxnutz Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Well aged ERDM, QDO or Cohiba. Absolutely phenomenal.
zyxwvu44 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I would say something like a LGC or another with fruity characteristics to match the wine. I did once have a PSD4 with some veuve , and while both were great the pairing could definitely have been better.
Derboesekoenig Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Anything on the lighter side. Cohiba for sure, Trinidad sometimes, some Hoyo, LGC
BrightonCorgi Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I like the elegance of a Lancero with Champagne. I don't find one profile or another to be any benefit. Lot acidity in Champagne to cleanse each puff. Smoke what you got or enjoy the most.
Dynamo320 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Not much of a sparkling wine/champagne drinker myself but I think I’ve seen Rob recommend the SC La Punta as a good pairing.
