You can see from Franks thread FOH Top CIgars of 2018(and some 2017) How popular the Trinidad La Trova has been.

November 2017 release .......worldwide acclaim by cuban cigar lovers......not produced in 2018 in any numbers to my knowledge.

No shortage of Reyes, Fundadores, Coloniales, Vigia.

The question we all have is .....why?

You launch a brilliant cigar, get all the kudos and then hide it away like a red headed step child?

Is it because it is a LCDH release?  There haven't been any issues with supplies of the other LCDH releases.

I am perplexed. If anyone knows the reason or can put forward a reasonable explanation outside of  "they are morons",.....let us know.

Rob, I found 4 or 5 boxes of Trinidad La Trova on the shelf in the Port LCDH in Falmouth, Jamaica last week (I think it was about 4 days ago). I'll discuss further in another thread in the next few days as the store owner, Raj was a fantastic chap, we had an instant rapport, and it was an occasion meriting a topic of its own.

when in doubt follow the money, they probably felt there was a better place to use that tabaco for a bigger profit....

No way man. These have been selling like hot cakes--HSA should know this by now. They are amazing. I could smoke 1 a day, but only see them at inflated prices...which I'm not willing to pay

Strange I was underwhelmed when I tried the La Trova earlier this year, I think I'm just not a Trinidad fan. Will have to see how they smoke next year.

Maybe you didn't have a good one.   They've knocked my socks off....

I read the reviews of those who smoked these cigars in Russia in 2018 - these are low-key ratings at 80+ points (4/5 on a simple scale). At the same time, there was a loose twist and some ammonia (and in fact the cigar was already 1 year old).

From Cuba I was get a photo of boxes 2018, but in order to make sure the authenticity I need to keep the box in hand....

Maybe I got lucky with my box. They blew me away. I'll have to go double check the code. I think I still have the box

Nope, it has been the norm (outside of Russia apparently) :cigar:

I’ve been on the look out for a box (at a sensible price!) for months now. I had a single back at the start of the year and it was fantastic. I’m glad to hear that supply may be picking up again.

Have a box arriving tonight by way of a friend returning from a trip to Germany. He found these in the LCDH in Zurich a couple of weeks ago.

I was at the LCDH in Montreal today and they have them. Picked up a single to have while I was there.

I picked up a box of ARS ABR 18 at the Varadero airport mid November. They had 4 boxes, wish I had more room on the allowances.

ARS - is Artemisa factory code

....what does that mean? Never heard of that factory

Artemisa is one of the province's between Havana and Pinar del Rio. I cant confirm or deny if if ARS is the Artemisa factory though. The provincials dont get identified as fast as the Havana factories, if at all.
