I love a great fish eye.  I'd have no problem doing it. Could you?

Post up your own examples of weird and wonderful foods......let's see where we would draw the line. :D

Those are blue fin tuna eyes. Considering the whole fish can go for an upwards of $250,000, 7 bucks seems like a steal!

Continuing the Japanese theme, here's one for the seafood lover:

Ya, I could do it. I’ve been known to eat some weird stuff. But then to people in MN even oysters are weird.

I would draw the line at that baby duck thingy Rob ate and posted about a few years ago.

I’ve eaten almost everything, including bat, snake, the balut pictured above, rabbit head, various insects, et cetera.

Bar none the worst thing was live octopus in Korea. I don’t mind raw, but I can’t handle stuff that fights back while I’m eating it...

Lol I like to kill my food before I attempt to eat it

Has anyone had rocky mountain oysters? My dad got me to try it, without even thinking about it. I thought I had heard the name before, so I asked him what it was....he said try it first. Well, ok....

I'll let you guys google it.

Not as bad as the balut though

I've been (and probably will remain) an omnivore all my life. I can appreciate people who, if they are going to eat an animal, eat the whole animal and don't let any part go to waste. I'm not one of those - I really don't care for offal, ducks in eggs, biting the heads off live birds, etc (no prob with those who do).

These days, and for quite some time, really, proteins for me consist mainly of eggs, tuna, and chicken - I enjoy all kinds of seafood, but the previous are my mainstays. I do sometimes, but less and less, eat hoofed / hooved animals. I sometimes wrestle with the idea of eating animals at all, but really haven't given serious thought to alternatives.

Reminds me of trying the ubiquitous 'hangover cure' found on the streets of Istanbul...roasted sheep's head. Doesn't really fight back, but does smile awkwardly at you as the man chops up his head and hands you a plate of steaming faceparts.

Balut....I draw the line at Balut.

I don't really care for the dishes that highlight nerve activity in a recently dispatched animal. Like the squid carcass recoiling from the salty soy, or still beating hearts. But at the same time I really like sweet shrimp, which is pulled from the tank. So I guess I'm a hypocrite.

There is a lot of offal that I don't or won't eat. But I fully appreciate the farmers who use every part of an animal that they raised. I was brought up fishing from age 2, so keeping only what you eat is a big part of my life. Luckily in southern california we can feed the discards from a fish to the crabs.

Roasted sheep’s head maybe. Balut- no

i cooked sheep's head once. for a dinner party for friends. they were raving, until one of the girls saw the skull in the kitchen. then they all decided to hate it.

i take the view that if someone somewhere is eating it then there must be something to it and so i'll give it a try. then decide if i will eat it again. the only things i really detest and won't go near are paw paw, pumpkin (though enjoy pumpkin soup) and popcorn (though love the smell).

otherwise, the only things i won't eat are things from endangered species or where it might encourage practices that might see them become that. i did eat bear paw once but i had no idea what it was before i ate it. was not happy about it - and it is awful. greasy horrible.

The only thing that has ever made me want to vomit is raw quail eggs.  Some “fancy” place in Vegas, about ten years ago.  Sulphuric and disgusting.  Ruined the rest of what should have been a great evening with my then fiancé and now wonderful wife and mother of three.

I actually really like that. My ritual food every time I go through Denver airport.
