Whats up for the weekend?

I am down with a cold/flu which will no doubt linger for a few days. no biggie.  The nights are cold here at the moment (1 C) so a nice pot of Osso Bucco calls to be made.  I will take the little boy racer out tomorrow morning for a spin. See if I can avoid back to back $1300 fines. 

My son Tom plays a crunch basketball game tomorrow in the school 1st V.  looking forward to it.  If I make a miraculous recovery there will be a dinner party tomorrow. I love a dinner party 

I doubt a cigar is on my horizon this weekend.

Sorry to hear you’re down with the crummy head stuff Rob. May it run its course with great haste.

Tomorrow I’ll be breaking down my bike to a ridiculous level of disassembly, so it can barely fit in what amounts to a large, clumsy hard suitcase with wheels. Saturday I’ll haul that sucker along with a few bags through the airport here, completely unpack it and repack it for TSA approval, then find my seat on a plane where the cheap red wine flows like water for a few hours, and the playlist on my headphones gently lulls me to sleep. When I awake, I’ll be in PDX to start a 2 week Pacific Northwest/Canada road trip...just me and my bike. But first I’ll have to collect my things and haul that sucker through an airport one more time. It’ll be worth it.

My goal on Sunday is to hunt down a box of Opus X in the greater Portland area. If anyone has a line on where I should be looking, I’m all ears. I’ve packed a stash of yellow-and-black tubos I’ve been saving up, perhaps a cigar with a botl is in the cards.

I reconnected with my cousins who I haven't seen in about 4 or 5 years. Why? I don't know. Just life doing its ebb and flow thing. Funny thing when I chatted with the younger cousin he said, no more losing each other's numbers. You're stuck with me forever. I'm ok with that. When you grow up somewhat isolated because your extended family doesn't live near you, it's a really weird dynamic.

Wanna know how brave my cousin is? He hopped on a raft with 4 of his friends back in the early 90s and left Cuba. He spent 4 days in the open ocean and they were recused by a cruise ship. Brave, crazy, and definitely lucky. He insisted that we fry a hog this weekend. He goes don't worry, I got all the equipment we need. We're frying it in your backyard. LoL I'll try to capture it as best I can.

Watching my grandkids play Ice-Hockey today and tomorrow at the Canusa Games here in Hamilton,Ontario.The Canusa Games is an annual (61yrs)event between an American city(Flint,Michigan)and Hamilton,Ontario.It's for kids up to 14 yrs old.Last year we, my wife and I went to Flint  to watch them play and now it's Hamilton's turn.It's a great time to mingle and meet those other kids and their parents

40k league game tonight.  I'm opting to golf and take care of some stuff around the house instead of going to my school reunion on Saturday.  Sunday I'll smoke something on the grill and watch the end of the pga championship.

Mother-in-law arrives from Miami with the box of the aforementioned Trinidad Reyes in about 4 hours.

I will be smoking one of those and no doubt trying to keep the peace between my wife and my mother-in-law.

First it's been too damn hot (105-109F) to smoke in the backyard, now it's the local fires in so-cal with ashes everywhere that ones lungs don't do well for long outside stints. So I think I will head to my local cigar lounge, purchase one of their cigars and then sneak light one of my CC's.  (Take the band off of course).  I support the shop but just cannot smoke the Dom's or Nic's.

My daughter’s 3rd birthday this Sunday. We will have a fun princess party, Princess Elena is coming and I will make sure I get in the ritual RA 2015 EL smoke in to celebrate her birth year.

I drove out to the beach house today to be with the wife and kids.  I worked last weekend so it has been 2 weeks since seeing them.  I plan on watching them surf, and taking them to their golf lessons tomorrow, as well as trying to figure out how to slow down time so that Sunday night doesnt get here as quickly as it usually does.

Going out to look at a bunch of houses. Hoping to purchase our first home by the end of October. We are having my long lost brother in law over Sunday night for my wifes specialty, shrimp tacos. Otherwise, relaxing and maybe smoking a few cigars in between. I wish all a peaceful weekend.

Have had my mum and dad over for the week last day today doing an early Christmas dinner 

been helping them look for a retirement place near PERTH 

they have found one in Mandurah hopefully they can sell their place in Victoria quickly it will be good to have them back  in the local neighbourhood 

‘rather than 2000 km’s away Fired up a QDO 50 yesterday while there’s a couple of days break in the rain ,here .still 21.c in the middle of winter can’t be bad

Went to my Grandpa’s memorial service today and got to say goodbyes to all my extended family. Today begins my 5,000+ mile roadtrip to my new home in Alaska (i hope @El Presidente doesn’t charge me extra shipping now ?). 

I’m driving over 1,000 miles in this first overnight leg. Calvert County MD to Des Moines IA. Gonna spread some of my Grandpa’s ashes at our historic family farm in Iowa (www.lhf.org ); meet up with @Rhino; have a day trip to the Badlands of SD; then start a big camping trip in Wyoming on Tuesday. Big week.

Packing up and getting ready for a 2+ week road trip.  Heading up to Louisville, KY where we're going to visit Churchill Downs and the Louisville Slugger museum and factory plus the bourbon trail.  After that were headed to Ohio for a herf with friends.  The back end of trip includes a visit back to the Washington DC to visit family and friends.  Then it's off to the Delaware and Maryland beaches to visit friends.  The travel humidor is packed, but now I need to get everything else together.
