MoeFOH Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 The World Cup about to kick-off, as always, much speculation as to the eventual finalists and winner... I'm thinking the same for Cuban Cigars. Which sticks would make your Semi-Finals? Base it on current form, pedigree, consistent high premium quality, whatever... And add some notes as to why they're kicking goals over the rest of the field if you like... pick an outright winner if you want, but I'm mainly keen to see the make-up of people's final four. Cheers, Moe. 3
Popular Post Stump89 Posted June 14, 2018 Popular Post Posted June 14, 2018 MdO4 - just a personal favorite Trini Reyes - consistent strong performer that rarely disappoints JL1 - dark horse, the JL2 gets all the love, but the size and flavor of the JL1 just does it for me PLMC - skinny smoke, great value, tough to beat 5
prodigy Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 RyJ short, wide and traditional Churchill's. Great every time. RASS. Can't stop touching the ones I have left, meant for aging...Reyes. Dessert in a cigar. My hq box is half gone and I stopped smoking them because I know they potentially will be even better. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk 4
Connoisseur Kim Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Although I myself have not smoked many cigars yet, here goes my humble selection for this special moment!! Cohiba Siglo II: My first time Cuban cigars and the greatest Petit Corona which has excellent blend and complexity in Petit Corona sized cigars IMHO. Cohiba Robustos: The quintessential Robusto with memorable taste which cannot be missed! Partagas Shorts: The cigar when I am looking for short but flavourful and yet complex cigars. 2
El Presidente Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Connie A. Like germany, you know it's going to make the final. Cohiba Robusto. Everyone else in its pool (behike/VI/Esplendido/Lancero) failed to show up. Juan Lopez seleccion 2. It has the latin flair to compete with the more fancied rivals. Bolivar Belicoso Finos. It will bludgeon its way to the final 4. Has been surprising everyone for the past 2 years. *Dark Horse is th Punch Punch. 4
Shaunster Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 On current form Punch Punch. Keep getting better recently. BBF. Quality has been outstanding recently. Siglo 1. The plucky small guy that always performs. Connie A. Never fails to please. 2
Piligrim Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Cohiba Robusto - best robusto for me. RASS - never fails Trinidad Fundadores - amazingly delcious and will add Partagas Salomones as great long smoke (can smoke during whole game or Cuaba Diademas if additional time and serie penalty ) 2
canadianbeaver Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Trinidad Colonial. Size is perfect before you go out or if you are planning to smoke later that day. A rare treat these days for some reason. On the strong side, but from start to finish, delish. Cohiba Siglo III. My all time favorite, lonsdale. If it has a few years on it, mellow and tasty with notes of coffee and smooth leather. (making that up. I have no idea as I just fall into a haze of love when I smoke). Ramon Allones 2015 Club Allones LE: Perfect size and have lots of boxes of these: Got them at the best price. My favorite brand so they could make RA magic markers. Cheers, CB 2
fitzy Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 BBF -Regular good smoke but maybe 2 or 3 duds in a box RASS -Consistently good PLMC/PLPC - Both are great. BPC - Always a great smoke SLR Regios - This flavor profile is really one of my favorites. 2
Danimalia Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Hmmm... Cool thread. Montecristo Petit Edmundo: Undersized and out-of-shape, it continues to stun the favorites with sheer flavor delivery. It won't win the tournament, but it will take down one powerhouse after another. Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2: Outstanding all-around game. Great flavors, and it delivers them plentifully. Pretty full in body, but not overwhelming in strength. And that's just on offense. Defensively, it almost always provides an even burn, fine draw and good construction. Diplomaticos No. 2: May not have the top end skills to be considered the greatest, but they consistently deliver satisfying results. Always competitive. Partagas Lusitania: A legend. How has it not fallen off by now? The wily veterans you expected to retire 4 years ago, they're still smashing the younger and more nimble competition. 2

SloppyJ Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 There should be a format where you can't read the replies until you've posted yours. I wonder how that would change the list? 1
