Another week of work-enforced abstinence, while the sun shines on the UK, and all around me are firing up lovely smokes, has forced me to consider which cigar I might first like to savour when I get home next week.

As I’m a lazy beggar, and this worked so well the last time, I’m throwing it open to FOH once more.

I quite fancy a Lonsdale. Please pick one from the options.

All things being equal, and if deliveries arrive on time, it will be paired with 2017 Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin, as repeatedly recommended by our friendly, neighbourhood liver-torturer @Ken Gargett.

I surrender my smoking fate once more unto your capable hands!

Cheers,

Iain

I would go for the RG Lonsdale. They will be turning 18 next week!

My initial thought was a RG lonsdale, but really like to hear a proper review of the Fonseca no 1.

Everyone that does a review seems to just say "hmm yeah pretty good" would like to hear a bit more

Encanto all the way.  With the Bloody Shiraz Gin iced up and toned down with tonic, it's "twice" as good, and "doubly" memorable; a veritable "two-for-one" not to be "second guessed" or . . . or . . . o.k., that's it . . . ran out of two-sheds innuendos . . . :P:cigar:

That RG lonsdale might edge out the Encanto, though; particularly since it's hitting 18 years on.  My 2011 Encantos still say "peak!" but I'm torn between finishing them off or rationing them.  They're so good but I fear for their flavor at this point.  Should I?

???? But you missed the obvious “Eight Pillars Gin” gag! ?

The last couple of Encantos I’ve tried have been on point, so I’d go for it, mate. ?

Many thanks to all who voted. The RG Lonsdale was your choice, and what a worthy winner it proved to be!

Here's the review.

Cheers,

Iain
