Bit of a bucketlist moment, me and my mate Bill had a bosh at the Nürburgring today.

Five laps each in a pair of Renault Megane RS.

I can honestly say that I have never been more terrified in my life. Or more exhilarated.

Victory (or, more properly, “Ahh, we’re still alive!!! I can’t believe it!!!) cigars were Allones Extras from TAU SEP 11. ????

Glad you're still with the living mate, sounds like a good laugh. Do you have to pay a deposit with the upholstery? Ps do the Allones Extras still taste like burnt stock cubes?.

Haha. The cost of cleaning up vomit in the hire car here was €250. Thankfully I escaped that one.

As for the RAE, I can confirm that they taste a great deal better when you’ve just recovered from puckering up so quickly that your arse audibly claps shut. ?

Congrats @ayepatz well done  and hope the RAE tasted like victory !!

Done the Nürburgring a few times with Austin Minis back in the years I lived nearby in Bonn.
Driving the course was 10 or 15 DM's back then and a great fun.

Cheers @nino! It was a top bucket list experience! Kudos for doing it in a Mini! (And a proper one, too, not one of the modern ones that’s as big as a house!)

Through work, I spend so much time in Germany these days, but normally on the other side of the country. I had no idea just how stunning the area around Adenau and Kelberg is. Absolutely breathtaking.

I'd love to have a go around the Ring as either a driver or passenger with a professional "Ring Taxi" driver.

What do you pay if you put the car in the grass?

What grass? It’s all guardrails...

I did it a few years back in a R32 Golf. Some car dropped an oil trail after a couple of laps - now THAT was a pucker up moment.

Great fun. At the end of the day, I took the ring taxi around - I’ve raced and autocrossed quite a few times but what that guy did with a Megane RS violated the laws of physics.

If you bin it, you are responsible for all costs incurred - damage to your car, all other cars affected, any damaged infrastructure, and closing the track. Not to mention medical bills.

The current record is around €250,000, apparently.

Yes, a proper Mini back in the 70's  :)

@ayepatz - The Eifel area is quite interesting and south of it you have the spectacular Mosel river wine area.
If you are back around the western part smoke with us in the pharmacy/me in the village - I live now about 90 minutes south of Bonn and 25 from Frankfurt.

The ring is definitely on my bucket list. I have taken several racing school track days from various sources. For all of the USA folks I reccomend the AMG driving expierence offered by MB. Buy an AMG MB and you get a free day. I rate it as better than the one offered by BMW. Road Atlanta in Winder Ga is a total blast. Scary old track with lots of elevation changes and one if the longest straightaways in the US.

Very well done, congrats!

Definitely on my bucket list, hope to be able to do it soon, if possible with a RWD! Have a bit of track experience, but the green hell is THE GREEN HELL for a reason!

We hired RWD Megane RSs from http://www.rsrnurburg.com/

Give them a call and speak to Ray Shepherdson. Top bloke. He’ll sort you out. ?

Congrats brother.  This is near the top of my bucket list.  Along with seeing the Goodwood festival of speed, and the Isle of Man TT.
