Nearly always:

- RASS

- Monte 1

- PLMC

- HdM Epi No 2

-BRC

Depends on their strength preference and whether they’re fine smoking a long and skinny.

Usually served with a rum, rye, or brandy, depending how how sweet they want it.

Party PCE for starters

BCJ

BRC (this clearance box is just outstanding with a light wrapper.  Always a surprising treat even though I’ve come to expect it)

Rum: Z23 / diplomarico reserva exclusiva

Makers on the rocks

choice of booze in one hand and soda water on the other

Cigars: if your going for a quick smoke I'd pull out Party Shorts like I did the last time I played poker with some novice friends. Guys with a little more experience and no considerations to cost CoRos or HU Connie A's.

Drink: Blanton's Bourbon is just so good right now and I think anyone who likes Bourbon would love it. If you prefer scotch Macallan 12 yr or if you're truely balling, Macallan 18yr. Macallan seems to have a taste that alot of seasoned scotch drinkers can appreciate even if they prefer more Lowlands vs Highlands, but more importantly for this case it also has a taste that a novice can appreciate as well imo.

My friends that come over get only the best I have. Life is short, give them the good stuff and then lead them through the process of understanding what they're enjoying till they can keep up! (....unless they're douche bags, wankers, tossers or posers then they get Piedra's or NC's from my "NC Drawer" (which is coincidentally all wickedly aged stock because I never reach for them) and cheap liquor they can pour in Coke and not make me wince)

Cigars:

Working our way through some '02-08 stock right now, trying to make room for the killer '14-'17 tobacco I have stuck in the OLH with no room in the inn. Notables are Dip 2 '06, BBF '08, and some SLR Serie A from '06 (Strong bastards!!). I also break out the PLMC's but dont have any "old stock" of those... They seem to disappear too quickly.

Whiskey:

  • Bourbon

Four Roses (any thing Barrel Strength), Elijah Craig Barrel Strength Release A,B and C from '17, Russels Reserve 10 year barrel strength private picks.

  • Scotch

Bunnahabain 12 (need to get some of its older brothers. @jat makes me jealous with his enormous, uh, "collection"), Laphroig Quarter Cask, Call Ila 12, Lagavulin 16

Just met up with the boys for my friends bachelor/stag party in Los Cabo's. Great trip, but good cigars aren't cheap there so I came loaded with a box of PSD4's and Monte 4's, both from FoH with a couple years on them, stellar boxes. Both cigars were smoking the house down, multiple guys said they were amougst the best they ever had! I knew it was going to be a special trip so I wanted to bring some of the best quality I had and I'm glad I did because they turned out great and I may have even sparked a few new flames for future brothers of the leaf!

Usually a cheap NC as I've had so many times where the guests light a nice cuban and then don't smoke the fricking thing. That just burns me. lol

As to the booze. I'm not a drinker but I would buy Basil Hayden's bourbon and a mix of beers for my guests.

Since my cc stock is currently nonexistent...

Oh man, if it's a budget drink it's going to be Chivas all day for me, tough to beat $20 for a 750ml. Otherwise it's something like Talisker or Ardberg.

For cigars, it depends heavily on the smoker. I about cried when I found several Padron Family Reserve 45's  that I passed out the day before my wedding which looked like they were pitched after less than 5 minutes.  If they like and appreciate cigars, then they can have something good, if not, they get a mild NC conneticut from the mooch section

I'm an annoying snob so if the people that come over can tolerate listening to me go off on the  particularities of all the crap we're having, we'll either have beer (sours if no smoking, barrel aged ales or imperial somethings if we are) or some type of cocktail (lately I'm reaching for a shot of Leopold Brother's cherry whiskey, a shot of sweet vermouth, and bitters in a highball, or something that I've been calling the Negresso, which is a Negroni with a shot of cold espresso thrown in for good measure).

Cigars I'm mostly handing out Monte 4s or Bolivar Corona Jr, but only because the people who have come over lately were not huge into cigars.  Those are both approachable and short in duration.

I would give my non-cigar smoking mates a rafael gonzalaz perlas or PC. Great tasting and cheap'ish. Most of my mates I gove cigars to are just rapt they are getting to smoke a "real Cuban". Yes even in Australia where it is legal we have the mystique.

My cigar mates get h upmann connoisseur 1 or mag 54 right now.
Drinks would be a sparkling shiraz (lets say seppelt classic for ease).

Nice cold beer that’s in the fridge, and there’s like 4 or 5 kinds. A choice of lots of cigars based on the size and time you want, or perhaps the kind you have not tried yet. We will not get into the smoking side unless we think you will really dig it.

Monte Petit Edmundo and Hoyo Epicure 2 seems to be what I hand out more than others. Lately thought I’ve been giving a lot of people Cohiba Shorts and they’ve been (mostly) very very happy with them. While I don’t really see the COSHO as a great value it’s a really excellent little cigar.

Edit: Forgot drinks. Likely would be coffee, water or Coke, but if friends want a beer, wine, or some decent rum or whiskey I can rustle up something halfway drinkable. Sometimes (even though I quit drinking a while ago) I enjoy a tiny little drop of rum, or a warmed up Grand Marnier. I don’t know if anyone else experiences this but I think a little taste of warm Gran Marnier raises my spirits a bit.

1st time smokers start with a Demi Tasse.  NC smokers get an aged RyJ, or Choix.

I pair their tastes for the next cigar, with either their alcohol, or one of my coffees if they prefer.

My palette burns out pretty fast, usually a Tom Collins on a Hawaiian night gets me as close to normal as I can get.  That said, we will usually have a Non plus, Cosaco, Perla, aged Montecarlo, young RyJ, Regios or JL#2.

For the cigars I usually hand out Monte PE’s . Everyone seems to enjoy them. Not too mild not to strong , nice and smooth.

As for libations, that would be scotch.

Balvenie 12,14,17.

If we're just talking about handouts among some mooching buddies, and you have a couple of hours, it's tough to beat the value and quality of recent Fonseca No. 1. The size, presentation, and quality will please both experienced and newbs, without breaking the bank.

Libations I tend to stick with beer, maybe decent middle of the road pilsner like Stella, but if I know the lads have a taste of scotch then I may put out some of my Speyside malts for the tasting, I usually have 3 or 4 bottles on hand.
