A couple takeaways from the cigar related videos. Marvin Shanken burns the shit out of his pre Castro H Upmann. This drives me absolutely bonkers when people light their cigars and burn half the wrapper. Second, MJ is an idiot for not visiting Cuba. The best time to visit have been last few years. His comment about buying one of the classic cars and shipping it back is stupid. With all the money he has, he can buy an 1950's American classic in states that is 100% restored and running. Does he know that the junk in Havana are all car shells with wood on inside and diesel boat motors under the hood?

ok. I'm done for the day.

Holy moley. You weren't kidding. Shanken absolutely TORCHES a half inch of the wrapper.

Ah, there was a time when 6 a day was no big deal.  He's probably smoking robustos. :P:cigar:   Remember the Surgeon General's report of 1968 categorized anything at 5 or under per day as moderate.   :cigar:

I like how the non-Michael Jordon guy burns most of the wrapper right off the bat, and then keeps torching it more and more as the video plays on. Sheesh.

I like how Jordan didn’t even react. Well played.

Then again, anybody gifting me a box of pre-Castro Cubans can light their ONE stick any damn well they please. ?

The social media aspect of todays athlete drives me crazy, cant imagine how a man like MJ must feel!

Just have to add that MJ looks like he is still in NBA shape and If I smoked 6 sticks a day, I would look a lot more like the guy on the left in the video than the guy on the right!

There's toasting the foot, and then there's torching the living daylights out of it until it becomes pure carbon.

Yooooooooo! That's a lot of cigars! I'm not here to judge, but six cigars a day seems a bit indulgent, if not harmfully hedonistic.

You want to know what fries me???

How about some pastie faced noob at a sports rag, fresh off a SI internship (4 months on the job) bringing is college edumication quasi-political propaganda to writing. Can we not get a writer that has actually tried a cigar, managed to hold a job long enough to be called good at it; perhaps a guy that does not have 'milk toast' for a middle name to write about topics that they might know better than the chant line in a protest rally???

Maybe he might try the 'virtual cigar' app for iPhone before he steps to the plate to talk cigars next time. If there is a next time...

Back to school mate.

I am no sports fan, but I cannot imagine that most NBA players 'relate' to the term passive aggressive. They relate to 'aggressive.' Wanna know why people call you snowflakes and MJ does to want to coach mamby-pambies? Read your own writing...

Easy for MJ to smoke 6 cigars a day--you think anyone's going to tell him to put one out? :lol3:

Not that if I wasn't living the MJ life I wouldn't also smoke constantly, but 6 cigars is a lot of smoke time at 45 mins+ per stick and who admittedly prefers larger cigars.

Also, regarding the Cuban classic cars comment, I could maybe give MJ a pass in that he may understand that those cars are frankensteins but that owning a genuine Cuban frankenstein classic might be quite novel. No one anywhere else has anything like them.

I also find it refreshing that a man who can buy and smoke anything's favorite cigar is the Lusitania. He does have good taste!
