El Presidente Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Received this email to which I have responded but I thought it is a good one to open up to the forum to achieve a greater breadth of ideas. let us know your thoughts. I will post my reply later today ____________________________________________________________________________________ Rob, I hope you can clarify something for me. I love a cigar with a nutty profile. Fortunately I travel extensively for work and have the opportunity of visiting some excellent Habanos stores around the world. Following your reviews I have sought out Upmann C 1 and Cuaba Divino and Distinguido. I have bought them from you as well and when I have done so I can generally get that nut and coffee flavour I seek. However when I pick them myself I have more misses than wins. So two questions if I may. What are your top 5 cigars with a dominant nutty profile? When seeking them out myself, what should I rely upon (wrapper? aroma? what type?).
Inthestix Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Great question - can't wait to see the responses from the well seasoned members of this forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
weirdneighbor Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I get cashew flavors from H.Upmann Royal Robustos. That's about the only cigar I can think of in recent memory with the a nutty profile.
Jfeath74 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I find nutty profiles, often in the first 1/3's of HdM Epi 2, HU Mag 46 and PLPC's. Three of my favorite cigars!
JohnS Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 @El Presidente, I think those three are an excellent choice for nuttiness in a cigar. So in addition to the Cuaba Distinguidos, Cuaba Divinos and H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1, I would add the H.Upmann Royal Robusto too. I also get a little of the nutty profile in the following...H.Upmann Magnum 46, Montecristo No.4, Saint Luis Rey Regio and Sancho Panza Belicosos 1
teamrandr Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I'm smoking a Sancho Panza Belicoso as I type. It has a roasted nut profile to me.
planetary Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hey, @El Presidente, got any more custom Czars left? Rumor has it the blender was going for a peanut profile. 1
Hurltim Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Punch 2013 LE: Tasted (and smelled) like a Punch Punch with roasted peanuts. Awesome!!! 2

SticksAndSticks Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 HUPC have a bit of an almond character. Also, not cuban but Illusione Rothschilds are straight up flowers & peanut. At $5 a stick you can't go wrong trying them.
Smoking Ninja Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I would say HU Mag 46, 50, and C1. Nutty flavor from HU is why it's one of my favorites!!
dicko Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I find a nutty flavour common to many cigars. H upmann and Punch most consistently for cashew and peanut. Juan lopez and PL have more of a roasted nut flavour.

El Presidente Posted April 26, 2017 Author Posted April 26, 2017 No unfortunately, none of those Czar custom peanut bombs left. One day _______________________________________________________________________ My top cigars for a nutty profile would certainly be: Cuba Divinos and Distinguidos. H. Upmann Connie 1 Trinidad Coloniales (good Vigia and Reyes as well. Good luck finding good Reyes). H, Upmann Sir Winston (when you can find them) Far more complex than just nuts but they are there in spades. H, Upmann Royal Robusto. When selecting them I would certainly move toward a rich colorado wrapper with sheen. Where you can avoid wrappers that are bordering on maduro as to my tastes, great darker wrapper adds those choc/cocoa notes but takes away from some of the "nut" delivery. One other wrapper to consider is Rosado in the Cuaba. They are around and when combined with good construction they are magnificent. Happy hunting! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2
Puros Y Vino Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I get peanut from Punch Punch and Punch DC's. Other nutty cigars are various Montecristo's. Mostly toasted almond or hazelnut. 1
hellorockview12 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I frequently taste almonds in MC as well! Here I thought I was the only one.
Guest Nekhyludov Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 The most prominent nut profile I've experienced lately is in 2015 Monte Edmundos. To me, they have a really significant toasted almond aspect.
luv2fly Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I get the peanut from Cuaba. Sometimes Punch Punch but I would put my money on Cuaba! Those little guys are a peanut haven for me. I love peanuts!!!

Blakes Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I often get nutty 'undertones' in the Juan Lopez seleccion no.1
cigaraholic Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I've had some boxes of SLR Serie A that were just like smoking peanut butter cookies.....yum!
