The local cougar shop needs to be a thing. I second that notion as well. For some reason my phone refuses to recognize the word cigar, constantly replacing it with cogar, which is not a word. 1
tengel78 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The drinks - Crown and Coke or maybe a Moscow Mule The food - Steaks, potatoes, and chips or something for later The music - My music range is so wide that the phone would just be put on shuffle The Movie - Dazed and Confused The Sports - March Madness The Cigars (order). - Whatever looks good while I'm staring in the humidor. The Dress Code - Jeans, T-shirt, a hoodie if it's chilly.
godpheonix Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 well when the wife and kids go up north they are gone for a week! so 7-8 days of pure bliss time! i usually have to plan ahead of time since its so many consecutive days haha! i usually indulge in my more limited cigar stash during this time since i'm almost always sure i won't be interrupted by anything or anyone! A chart of what cigars and when i'm smoking them and food and drinks already determined for the week. Lamb is at the top of that list without a doubt! along with a Pangea Syrah wine from Chile! that's for starts...what can i say...efficiency is key to get the most of my free time! movies...well i try to get to the theatre at least 2 nights to see something new otherwise the rest of the week is Netflix and HBO shows, mostly. sports....naw...not interactive and capturing enough for me. music, jazz and cuban mostly over the week! dress code, whatever is appropriate at the time and place( which could mean very little!) hehe
Sophistic Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 prefer mixed parties over boys nights by a mile. no matter how sophisticated the crowd, alcohol + no women and at least one guy snaps and goes on some super stupid endless rant nobody wants to hear. 2
Lotusguy Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Wife and child go to Taiwan for a few weeks every year so plenty of "me time" then but I can also take a night off whenever I want (and so can she). I feel sorry for the people whose "freedom" is limited to one 8hr slot once in a while. You need to readjust your priorities - having time apart is as important as having time together. 3
Ryan Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The drinks Beer, whiskey(Powers and/or Yellow Spot), rum, wine The food Butterflied leg of lamb on the barbeque if I'm in the mood. If not, pizza or Indian delivery. The music Hendrix, Dylan, blues or a selection The Movie Withnail and I, Trainspotting. The Sports 6 nations, Ireland v England or Hurling, Tipperary vs anybody The Hookers The Cigars (order). Custom Churchills The Dress Code Raincoats if we're barbequeing. Light a fire, crack a window and light cigars.
El Hoze Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I do "guys nights" often, which actually often includes the lady - it's more of a "gluttony" night. She, truth be told, appreciates the menu of a guys night more than most of my bozo friends and I ensure the kitchen will be magically spotless when I wake up hungover the next morning wondering what the hell happened. Setup is typically: Booze: vodka martinis, really good California cabernets or Bordeaux, maybe a super Tuscan. Beer is water so need to have that. I usually go with like a Grolsch. And good rum/scotch/tequila depending on if the weather is warm/cool/hot. Food: always has to be bone in dry aged prime ribeye cooked on the grill. Baked potato, or twice baked potato, fully loaded w tons of bacon, sour cream, chives, etc. And crab cocktail. These are cornerstone of a guys night for me. Cigars: All big stuff. Lusitanias, Sig VIs, ideally GR of each if we're doing it up here. Maybe a Punch DC. Music: Jerry Garcia, Taj Mahal, maybe some Dr. John. Sports: ideally NCAA hoops or NFL/NCAA football. Dress code: flip flops and shorts. Movie: I'll just fall asleep or not pay attention. That's why I like sports. Hookers: I generally get pretty boozed up on guys nights and am fairly worthless the next morning. I'd rather spend the money on something else. Like maybe a hooker for the following night.

And it will be a great week! Drinks: starts with a Balantine Ale out of tradition (the boys have been drinking these since it was properly brewed years ago) , followed by Harpoon Boston Irish Stout, followed by a nice sipping rum - probably zacapa 23, a great bourbon, and finish with a fine whiskey - I'm partial to Glenfiddich 15 (We are talking 8 hours, right?) Food: definitely something on the grill - probably wild salmon with a bourbon glaze Music: Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Eagles, and some good saxy jazz (Coltrane, Roland Kirk, Dexter Gordon, ...) Sports: March Madness (college basketball) or Red Sox baseball game if playing Cigars: OK don't kill me but my buds and I first started smoking cigars 45 years ago and our first cigar (after watching a Clint Eastwood western) was a Parodi, so that has to kick off the day. Then,... Lusitania, Parti 898,, BBF, and a Cohiba Behike to end the day. Smokapalooza. Dress: If we have to 1
Jfeath74 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 The misses is out with work friends right now and I'm enjoying March Madness Basketball Makers Mark Bourbon PSD4 & Monte PE Turkey Sandwhich No complaints tonight, if I had the boys over there would probably be larger cigars, a fridge full of beer and The BBQ fired up. Damn now I feel like having a party! 1

Lamb done, music on, cigar in hand and just working out whether to indulge in the Shiraz or the Pinot (first) tap tap tap on the door. it's 8pm at night? they will go away. tap tap tap on the door again. Bugger it. Cigar down but they can face me in my tshirt and undies (yes Colt...I like to dress up on these nights). Open the door. Di's mum ......Rena. In comes Rena. Having a few phone problems at home and wanted to see if I can call her technician who fixed her landline Wednesday. Rena doesn't have a mobile. "No problem Rena. make yourself comfortable". She did. There is no chance a phone tech would answer his mobile on Friday night. I tried anyway. No pick up. i sent him a text. he text me back. I played an hour of Text tennis. Bottom line is he wasn't going anywhere until Monday. Rena wasn't going anywhere either It was only when I led her to the door later in the evening that I realised I was still in my undies. 9
GWG Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 So fortunately or unfortunately I work days and the wife works nights so I get my man time every afternoon. So if I am not enjoying the company of friends over cigars and good beer then I'm home looking for the perfect cigar ,beer pairing while enjoying a good book and some time away from traffic and my phone. If steaks be on the menu then I would be having it with the wife because it brings her so much enjoyment. So give me a good lamb stew, a mahler 12 And a punch punch. Or a seat on the patio a good book a Speedway stout and a la aurora maduro preferido. No demands no distractions and some blues in the background.perfect!

Hurltim Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 OK, I'll play. Jen was at a horse clinic Saturday and Sunday. The problem is, all my friends live too far to drive here regularly.
