Starlet119 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Am I the only one that enjoys these things? Haven't seen any review or info on these since I purchased a yr14 box, these have been my go to cigar, they have yet to disappoint me.
ChampagneInHand Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 H.Upmann petit corona and half coronas are excellent. The funny thing is that there are so many great Habano club sized cigars. My personal favorite is Bolivar corona juniors but I also love their petit corona too. Partagas, Upmann, RyJ, and so many more make excellent small sticks that have reasonable price for great quality smokes. "What should we start with?" "An '82 Margaux." "Is it good?" "Good? It will make you believe in God!"
JohnS Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Our good friend, Dan had a recent review of these... http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=124653 As a global brand, H.Upmann has 13 regular production cigars including some very popular vitolas. Perhaps some of us reach for a Magnum 46, Magnum 50, H.Upmann No. 2, Half Corona or a Connoisseur No.1 before we'd reach for a H.Upmann Petit Corona? (Even the Sir Winston, if available or the Habanos Specialist Release, the Connossieur A.) Having said this, I'm not implying that the Petit Corona is not a fine option for a Marevas cigar, it's just under-rated unfortunately. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=H._Upmann
losttrailer Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 great Marevas. Have two boxes LUB MAY 14 here and while they smoke really good right now, i feel like wasting potential on these. While HUHC are good with two to four years, these imho should lay down for at least four+ years. If it comes to Marevas everybody is reaching for PLPC and many good options like SP Non Plus, JL Petit Coronas or HUPC are easily missed out .
garbandz Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Have a couple boxes just mellowing,I try to keep these in stock.
PapaDisco Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Love them also. The '14 box I have took a while to settle down, about a year actually before the sticks were enjoyable, but what an amazing transformation. ROTT they were dark and quite a bit of mongrel, a year latter they were just luscious and even sweet. Wish I had two or three of those boxes now.
SCgarman Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Am I the only one that enjoys these things? Haven't seen any review or info on these since I purchased a yr14 box, these have been my go to cigar, they have yet to disappoint me. One of my favorite cigars. I try to keep 6 boxes or so in my humidor cabinet at all times. The LUB 14 box code Upmann PCs are as good as it gets. Love the unique shortbread note in the flavor profile!
saintsmokealot Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I just got turned onto these. I bought a box and tried one ROTT and it was very good. I definitely see more box purchases in my future.
JoeyGunz Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 was weighing up getting a box of these over the half corona's
Starlet119 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 I'm patiently waiting for them in the 24:24. Hopefully with some age.
NSXCIGAR Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 HUPCs are a FOH favorite as far as I can tell. Holds it's own with any mareva and 2014-2015 LUB stock has been excellent. I personally believe the blend is the same for the PC and the HU No 2. Very bold in Upmann flavors with great aging potential. If you like HU you can't go wrong.

Once that leather starts turning to cream (2-3 years) look out!
ArtVandalay Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Glad to hear these are good to go. I'm contemplating my first box and I'm on a bit of a budget this quarter...
earthson Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 H Upmann PC are classy cigars - they have a Coronas Major (tubo) that's a bit cheaper. If you really want budget, may I suggest Por Larranaga PC, Montecarlos and Panetelas, Rafael Gonzalez PC and Panetelas, and Fonseca no 1 (for a larger smoker)? All standards in my humis and all better than many more expensive sticks IMO. 1

David88 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 The H. Upmann PC is a quality cigar and for the price it's a bargain. I prefer to HC over this but do find it's too short a smoke.
ThePolskiOgorki Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I recently picked up a box but wont be having one until they are done taking a bit of a rest. It is still pretty cold outside here too. The H. Upmann Petit Corona is not available in Canada for some reason so it made it kind of difficult to get my hands on any until now. I have smoked many of the half coronas, regalias and some of the tubos (junior, minor, major) although they are far from amazing I cant say anything bad about them. The construction is typically very good. H. Upmann is my favorite marca and I do enjoy the PC size so I hope it delivers. As someone already mentioned there are some other good affordable options too when it comes to the PC size. The Partagas Mille Fleurs come to mind.
joeruby Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I bought a box of these LUB MAY14, thinking they would make for some good C & C's. However, very impressed, certainly punching above their weight for what they cost.. 1

These are great, but in my experience, need 3 years or so to smooth out and gain depth. You might want to drybox them before smoking. The PL Panetelas seem much better ROTT, but I don't know why.
Ralphanator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I'm working on a Box from 02 and they are One Flavorful Smoke one of my Favorites PC from 02! I have a box sleeping from 9-15.
