bacalao Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 http://halfwheel.com/rocky-patels-hamlet-cigar-takes-shape/88243 Stumbled across this. Good to see he isn't wasting any time. Hope the line is a success. 2
CaptainQuintero Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Surprised that managed to get through copyrights with the existing massive market dry cigar Hamlets. Interee stuff though kudos!
Bulldog4 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 im sure they will be fantastic i hope its a massive hit all the best to mr. Hamlet
laficion Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Hi all, What made Hamlet so special was the way he could blend CUBAN Tobaccos, and THAT made him so unique. Now, with other Tobaccos , nothing says that Rocky Patel's tobaccos are so special and with N.C.'s, that still has to be proven.Good luck to him anyway. Guy
smokum Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Waiting for that perfect day to smoke the Hamlet I won here 10 years ago. It is time.
madandana Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Hope it's a big hit. Good things happen to good people! Can't wait to try even tho i'm not a big NC guy. Dana loves the colors of the band.
Popular Post Ryan Posted June 25, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 25, 2015 Hamlet has said that the new line is not going to be called 'Hamlet' but 'Tabaquero' by Hamlet Paredes. So no trademark or copyright issue. I'm really looking forward to trying them. I wouldn't care if the tobacco was Cuban, Nicaraguan or Scottish, it's Hamlet for God's sake. Anything he has had a hand in blending, I'll try. If they're good, I'll get more. 11
Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 25, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 25, 2015 Go hard Hamlet .....not bad for a Cuban who landed in a new country this January 5
CUBANO Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Go hard Hamlet .....not bad for a Cuban who landed in a new country this January That's how Cubans roll, brother. The sky is the limit. Wish him the best 2
Habana Mike Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Absolutely! Looking forward to giving the NC Hammie a try - he can only improve on the Patel blends True it's like making silk purses from sow's ears but if anyone can do it 2
Strada Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Go hard Hamlet .....not bad for a Cuban who landed in a new country this January Agreed, all the best for him. He has always been a gentleman and friend of cigar lovers. I hope this endeavor is successful for him! 1
teamrandr Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Maybe Rocky Patel will release something wirthwhile finally. 4
Rushman Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Great news hamlet and all the best to you. The U.S. Cigar industry needs more people like you sir. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
El Presidente Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 You going to stock them Rob??? I will be speaking to hamlet over the weekend. We will see what we can do 2
El Presidente Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Spoke with Hamlet today. I love the bloke. In relation to his launch, he is nervous and excited....At the RTDA next month and on shelves September. 5 sizes including a Salomones. He can't speak highly enough of Rocky Patels support. I love anyone giving life a serious crack 3
Guest rob Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 His enthusiasm and drive to succeed is contagious. I'll fondly remember 7 of us crammed in his 4 seater car as he drove us to the Nacional....we arrived with the valet attendant aggressively trying to motion for us to turn back as he was not permitted to drive there and the car park was full.....Hammy wound down his window....and when the valet saw who it was, he removed some traffic cones at the front - and we got pole position in the VIP car park! The man is a rock star!
wabashcr Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Excited to see how these turn out. My concern was that he'd be limited to whatever tobaccos RP had on hand, in an effort to get this to market so fast. I don't want to see it rushed and not up to Hamlet's standards. From Rob's comments that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm sure the longer he's at it and the more control he has over the process, he's going to be blending truly transcendent cigars. So thrilled for him.
Scdalak Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Agreed, all the best for him. He has always been a gentleman and friend of cigar lovers. I hope this endeavor is successful for him! CLAMATO! 1

So thrilled for him. I believe that he will only improve over the years as there is only so much one can do in 5 months (since his arrival at RP). What I like is that he is working side by side with one of the best marketers of cigars in the world. Like or loathe RP cigars, he made (or put to market) 20 million cigars this past year. Habanos did 88 million or therabouts. What a great learning experience for Hamlet. Lessons that will hold him in good stead moving forward. 2
Colt45 Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I'd surely be interested to know how he decided upon / developed the blend(s). I'll try a corona when I can.
