Popular Post El Presidente Posted March 29, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2015 Di and i arrived last night into Saigon from Singapore. it was a long day in the air but we picked up my mate Manu in Singapore, He is a top bloke calling us into the Singapore airlines first class lounge for a few drinks (a few too many) and then had a an airport motorised cart pick us up from the front of the lounge and whisk us to the gate E28. Having well connected mates is really the only way to travel Manu had a driver waiting for us in Saigon....quick check in at the Hotel Majestic (beautiful) and up to the roof deck for a cigar (CORO) and some whiskies. Off to dinner at at a local bar (Andy's)...great night finished off with a visit to a rooftop nightclub somewhere in town where we mingled with the "beautiful people"....a ton of coin in these parts at the pointy end! I haven't had a drink since my birthday Feb 12 and came off the wagon with an almighty thud. 3am ish finish last night, slept brilliantly and at the markets this morning around 10am. Manu took us to meet loni at her bar Magumbo for lunch and six beers. Great Beef salad! Off for a drive around town on he "quiet Sunday" ....only what appears to be 2 million scooters on road today carrying everything from families of 5 to refrigerators. madness...vibrant...beautiful! Just back now from a head massage, pedicure, manicure etal at a place recommended by Manu. Hmmmmm....i suspect if Di wasn't there the offerings would have been far different! Great experience but one suspects (actually one knows) there is a whole lot "more" to the place Tapping this out from the hotel roof bar (M Bar). Cigar friendly (as is most of this city it appears), and enjoying a Boli Petit Corona and a few Whisky Soda. Need to grab an hour kip before heading out tonight with Di. It should be a cracker Catch you tomorrow! 16
