dicko Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Boli BBFs Same here they are great smokes just not in the flavour profile I'm enjoying this last 12 months.
protekk Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 The handfull of RyJ Hermosos No.2 left from a great box, because I love em and always want one but once finished they are gone forever. Monte Especiales No.2 for no real reason. I love but keep passsing them by 1
AbuAmelia Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Definitely my Customs from Cuba. Every time I go to grab one, a voice in my head states not to. So I put it back. This happens at least three times a week. Lol 1
noreaster Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 ED 109. 11 left of an 07 box ...can't even open the box to look anymore
Rushman Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Hoyo Palmas Extras. One of my usual go to cheap and cheerfuls but the last 12 months I gravitate away from them for some reason. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Smallclub Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Pre embargo Davidoff.... so delicate. Pre embargo Davidoff? yeah sure… the brand was released 10 years after the revolution… 1
earthson Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 PL Encantos. Just can't bring myself to try them after trying the Belicoso Extra and finding it very bland. I wasn't a big fan of the Belicosos - not bland, but nothing above and beyond PLPC or PLMC. The Encantos are great - maybe it's the vitola! They're still not at the level that the Robustos de Larranaga are at - and I don't know if they ever will be - but they're nice when you want PL goodness that lasts longer than an hour.
CaptainQuintero Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Pre embargo Davidoff.... so delicate. One day I will have a go at them. Regards. Cubans? I was under the impression that Davidoff started their Cuban enterprise in 1969?
Shikar Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Excuse my dating the cigar.....it's just a old Cuban. Regards.
DrPartagas Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Behike 54 I keep thinking that I must let them age more before I fire one up.
CaptainQuintero Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Excuse my dating the cigar.....it's just a old Cuban. Regards. No problem! I was confused momentarily and started a mad dash towards the bookshelf looking for Davidoff own-brand cigars before the Cuban ones.It looks beautiful, don't leave it too long! Did Davidoff have their own line of cigars before 1969? Obviously probably NC but I'd assume they may have had some kind of 'store brand' on their shelves? @smallclub?

Obviously probably NC but I'd assume they may have had some kind of 'store brand' on their shelves? @smallclub? Yes, the Davidoff shop in Geneva had plenty of NCs "selected by" or "made for" Davidoff. Mainly tobaccos from Java, Sumatra, Indonesia. I cut my teeth on these cigars… 1
KRunch61 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Boli CJ. Maybe a bad batch or maybe I'm just not a Boli guy, but they're little more than earth and a fleeting coffee-ness. MUR MAY 13 box, so they're not over-aged. Dunno, but I either need to hand more out or wait until they're golden oldies. PM me...I'll send you my addy!!
JohnS Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 A few Siglo II's. The last one I smoked was perfect, it's just that I've got other marcas to get through first...no harm resting them.
daeji5 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 i pass on whatever's deep inside my cooler because i'm lazy to get to it. good thing i put my punch punch's, lanceros, monte esp 1's, and regios deep inside the cooler. i also keep passing on my quintero favoritos. i tried one of my londres extras that was about 9 months old and they tasted so significantly better that i bought a box of favoritos and stashed them away.
merc Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I keep passing over a PSP box of Juan Lopez #2 Have reached for them many times, only to end up grabbing something else. Kinda feels like I'd be wasting them if I was to smoke thorough it now. I have epi 2s, CoRos and D4s which all smoke great young. 1
spicycorona Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Trini Robusto Ts. Running low. They're not blow your doors off good, but they're good enough to hold on to right now. Oh, and they're freaking discontinued. And 2 Lusis from circa '10. Haven't had one a few years, but mainly because I don't have time and apparently I live in the arctic now.
Rye Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I have been procrastinating lighting and smoking a blind sampler from a generous BOTL for months. I really should get to it before I have to start procrastinating with the FoH blind taster.
Surucipe Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 1966's and 520's - I'm tempted but then I think "It's still too early" and I put them back. Deep down of course I know that I should try one of each box and find out myself. Had singles of both which were great, but felt that they could be even better given a bit more time. My dilemma is that there are only 10 sticks per box so I don't want to have too many "too early" samplings because then I will only have a handfull of sticks left when they're really in their prime. Will bite the bullet soon though. 3
backslide Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 For me it's anything Cohiba. I just don't care for them too much.
anacostiakat Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I really only avoid boxes for two reasons: One, I feel they need more time and are not ready. Two, I can not bring myself to smoke something that I know is the last I will have. This has to be balanced with my ideas on if they are ready or not. No sense holding onto something past it's prime. Getting better at this but now that I am retired I have the time to go through a box and enjoy myself.
LordAnubis Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Good topic!!! Behike 54's. A good box from 2013 I think it is. I've gifted two to friends, but never smoked one. Never smoked a behike at all in fact. Just can't seem to bring myself to smoke it. I should one day. The other one is a God Of Series B torpedo. Black as charcoal. I just think that if I smoke it I will die of nicotine overdose. I know there is no relationship between darkness of wrapper and nicotine strength but still.

I know there is no relationship between darkness of wrapper and nicotine strength but still. Same for me Mus. I've a box of 54's that was brought back from Havana by my sister in law 3 years ago. I've had 2. They were awesome. There are 8 left. I'm reticent to try another, as I want to age them. And 8 doesn't look like that many when you're staring lovingly at them with the lid open.
madmarvcr Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 RA Canada RE Gorditos, I have 2 boxes. My favorite RA. Boxes are still available, but eventually they will be gone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
