You'd think at 27 I would stop seeing myself as internally around 15. The noises I make when sitting down/standing up would point otherwise lol! Maybe I just need to start reading softer foods and get a nice sensible chair. Maybe that's the thin end of the edge!

Who needs short term memory anyway, I can remember names and numbers! For some reason birthdays are an issue though lol!

… to be 27…!

… what is your name again? lol2.gif

Knowing who Michael Jordan is is one thing; guessing who is a guy called "MJ", dressed like the Fedex employee who delivers my cigars, is a different thing.

I just can't wrap my head around the fact, that anyone older than 10 years has not heard of the greatest Basketball Player of all time?! Even if you are not interested in any sports at all, somehow

The first three are a result of the fourth Who is this MJ guy? Am I supposed to know him (serious question)?

This. I know who Michael Jordan is. I don't recognize some random dude smoking two cigars at the same time and admire him for it...

All the money in the world cannot buy taste, knowledge or experience, However, it can secure the services of counsellors, consultants and specialists to help choosing and finding. At the end of the day, if he enjoys the smokes, good for him. Now, if he could hire the help of a good dresser... ;)

Money cannot buy true happiness either. I've learned to never idolize anyone in life, especially when you are basing your views of someone on what is available on the TV.

I was surprised by this excerpt from this article:

http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/page/Michael-Jordan/michael-jordan-not-left-building

"Back when they used to shoot a lot of commercials, Jordan's security team would wait for him in his trailer while he was on set. A woman named Linda cooked Michael's meals, and he loved cinnamon rolls. She'd bake a tray and bring it to him. When it came time to film, he'd see the guards eyeing the cinnamon rolls and he'd walk over and spit on each one, to make sure nobody took his food."

No matter where in the world you lived.

No offence, just a serious question, how this is possible.

I agree with u on this one 100%. You guys are telling me y'all saw no part of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona? The Dream Team? I'm only 27 yrs old,was 6 at the time the dream team won gold included Michel Jordan and other NBA legends! It also boggles my young mind for someone to say they don't know who MJ is no offense to anyone just sharing my 2 cents

You might learn to read the actual posts before you talk like that. NO ONE in this thread has ever said he didn't know Michael Jordan.

And btw I saw zero part of the 1992 Olympic basket ball tournament...

The greatest / most famous sportsman thread hit on this heavily, the impact of Basketball, NFL and baseball is very small outside of the US. When you factor in India, Cricketers are going to be right up there with Footballers. China becoming more into Football is going to push that further out ahead too.

Its fair to say most Europeans will have heard of Michael Jordan, but beyond that he played basketball I think awareness drops off massively. Putting a name to face even more so. Re the Olympics, simply you don't watch what doesn't interest you, eg how many people in the US watched the Olympic football GB team because for the first time ever a united nation was represented and Ryan Giggs had his arguable first and last major tournaments despite the greatness of his abilities?

Imagine going to your average bar in the US with a list of the names of the 5 most famous cricketers or football players, what's the rate of people who can name them, then point them out of a lineup, then pick clubs they play for.

Do the same in India, Asia, Europe and the story is going to be different.

A billion Indians automatically puts the impact of popular US sports in global standing into small place, for good or bad. Add another billion Chinese, half a billion Europeans, etc etc and true globally famous people start to be people that you really wouldn't initially think of.

I am tipping the mid 40's scale and still think I am 20. The only reminders I get are getting out of bed, getting up from lunch break and getting out of the car when I get home. Construction played its hand for sure but I think if I stop I may very well fall apart.

Should of got into basketball I guess. But sports were never my strong point, to busy making a living.

One thing I like though is high profile people smoking in public. My new motto is "If MJ, Arnie, and Bill can do it so can I!"

We are all human as far as I know.

If this forum was about asking people why they don't know something, my post count would be a million or more now… and the membership would be down to less than five!

My last comment about those who would prefer to argue with other members about why they don't know what they don't know, is this. It is far easier to 'wrap your head around' an issue when your head is not already wrapped by another issue, or tissue in this case! Remove the tissue, namely one's own sphincter, and the head will be free to wrap, or get wrapped up in, many issues!

Now a more serious question… What the hell is the Ryder Cup…? I vision bare chested men shooting water balloons at another team using jock straps as slingshots!

Am I right?

If I am wrong, does the game involve smoking? Maybe I might want to join a team if it does! If I have gotta' wear a stupid uniform like the ones pictured, I'm out… I probably can't afford it… But if involves smoking, while one at a time works best for me, I am in. Does the team bring the cigars, or do you furnish your own?

I have tons of questions about this battle of silk pajama draped gladiators engaged in two fisted smoking… Looks like fun! Are snacks and drinks also a part of the game? Who will mentor me?

Cheers! -Piggy

The serious answer:- It's a team golf event played between the United States and Europe. Initially the US and GB.

No.

Yes.

It depends. I usually take my own and share. So if you were on my team, the answer would be yes.

Yes.

I would. But I can only take you so far, as I have only been playing for 3 years. I think @bartolomeo is quite good. Should hit him up.

I like Michael Jordan...

I would bet good money I would like the cigar(s) he is smoking...

I cannot however figure out WHY someone needs to double fist cigars. My ONLY guess would be it would prevent over heating the cigar if you are taking alternating puffs...no idea.

Now...double fisting a couple Coor's Lights, I think that is just standard operating procedure.

Thousands, and I mean thousands, of those Presidencias were available for anyone and everyone about 15 years ago. They are still available for purchase at your domestic Facebook dealers.

Could be wrong but one doesn't look lit. Could be he just started one and is holding the other one waiting to give it to someone.
