KB24 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 MJ double fisting at the Ryder Cup! Anyone know what he's smoking here? 2
tjohn7 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Living the life! No idea what he's smoking though
CaptainQuintero Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I expected something entirely different from the title! 4
lostsoulcamero Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Well he is #23 and can get whatever is available
CaptainQuintero Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I thought the Diplomatic releases from the years when these bands were used (Up to 1969) would have all been Laguito #1 sized? That cigar looks like some kind of robusto extra at the very least?
PigFish Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Assuming it is real, and I will make the same statement regarding my own, I have had them in a number of sizes, including the 109, which this resembles from what I can see. I still have a few if anyone wants pics… Mine are hinging on 20 years of age by now… -Piggy 1
CaptainQuintero Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Please Mr Pig! Love cigar porn especially juicy rare cigar porn! I'd assumed from the literature on the band at CCW that these were only ever used on the original Cohiba / pre lancero and stopped at the end of the 60's
Bartolomeo Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 He was smoking a Cohiba 1966 on Friday
1LegLance Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 There is this great pic floating around the web with MJ smoking a Cohiba 1

I'd assumed from the literature on the band at CCW that these were only ever used on the original Cohiba / pre lancero and stopped at the end of the 60's I can take you some additional pics but I have to dig for the cigars. I kept a handful just for occasions like these. Let me know if you want more… -R http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116373&hl=presidencia
LeafLover Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Beautiful house, hot wife. Great cigars, rich. He's the man
ATGroom Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 This is the fourth time this year that I've seen cigars wearing this band in a double corona or pyramide size, the other three coming from CCW users who had bought some and wanted info about them. All were fairly recent production, all of them swore by their source, and all were said to be phenomenal cigars. The idea that presidential gift cigars were all Laguito #1 or #2 comes from the 90s interview with Castro in CA, where he says that they were the only sizes he gave out. We're a long way from the era when lanceros were being manufactured for Castro's private stash though - I'd say it's likely that presidential gift cigars today probably do come in a variety of trophy smoke sizes. A non-cynical person would look at this comparative abundance of presidential banded cigars at the moment and say that this must just be the band that Cuba is using for VIP gifts right now, the cigars are being given out at a fairly low level, and that they're making their way into the market from there. A more cynical mind might wonder if someone hasn't produced a truckload of presidential fakes that are doing the rounds. That said, if anyone could get their hands on a genuine presidential gift cigar, it'd be MJ. 3
BehikeLover2 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I want so see his humidor. Maybe if I ask him very nicely?
Popular Post Lotusguy Posted September 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2014 Beautiful house, hot wife. Great cigars, rich. He's the manThe first three are a result of the fourth Who is this MJ guy? Am I supposed to know him (serious question)? 5
shlomo Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The first three are a result of the fourth Who is this MJ guy? Am I supposed to know him (serious question)? Michael Jordan.
PigFish Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The first three are a result of the fourth Who is this MJ guy? Am I supposed to know him (serious question)? …I was going to ask the same question! So much for my sports, Hollywood, and other celebrity knowledge. I would recognize Bogart, or Cary Grant… Used to run into George Kennedy quite a bit at a FBO at a local airport (80's). Maybe he does not count. -LOL -Piggy
Popular Post MostlyHarmless Posted September 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2014 I just can't wrap my head around the fact, that anyone older than 10 years has not heard of the greatest Basketball Player of all time?! Even if you are not interested in any sports at all, somehow you had to stumble upon a headline about MJ somewhere between the 80's and the 00's. No matter where in the world you lived. No offence, just a serious question, how this is possible. 7
Popular Post Smallclub Posted September 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2014 I just can't wrap my head around the fact, that anyone older than 10 years has not heard of the greatest Basketball Player of all time?! Knowing who Michael Jordan is is one thing; guessing who is a guy called "MJ", dressed like the Fedex employee who delivers my cigars, is a different thing. 10
PigFish Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I DON'T CARE who he is mate! I know what the GDP of my country is! I know where the Dow closed! I know my firearms are locked up! I know how to fly an airplane! I know how my cigars are stored! I know the history of my country… I know the host of this site, personally… I know where my car keys are! I know many more things… You see, I know what is important in life (to me). I don't discount what is important in life to others, that is up to them. The fact that someone can run a ball shaped one way, hit a different one another, or throw one through a ring some number of feet away with any kind of precision and accuracy is of very little importance to me. How much he gets paid, what is wife looks like, etc., etc., etc… matters little to me. I only posted to this thread because he is smoking a cigar, God bless him, in public (apparently) and I am interested in cigars! If he is promoting cigars, that would be a good thing in my book…! If you and others look up to him, beyond his apparent height, that is judgment call and no real interest to me either. From where I sit, a guy dressed like that, with cigars in both hands (the first photo), looks bewildered at best, mentally ill at worst… -LOL My only other comment would be that his mother taught him how to layer his clothing, but that is an assumption on my part! I must say however that asking someone why they don't know something is very silly… You already know the answer! It is called ignorance, and when it comes to who is whom in the celebrity world I am not really ashamed of my ignorance on the topic. Me, I have known to be able to hit a flying clay pigeon with a 45ACP round out of a 1911… It does not bring me fame nor fortune, but it does bring me some satisfaction that I can do some things very well as a result of not spending endless hours in front of the tube watching sports! I hope that helps… seriously. -the Pig 1

Let me know if you want more… -R http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116373&hl=presidencia It looks like some forward thinking whippersnapper already made a thread asking about these cigars a while back doesn't it :S I worry about myself sometimes! Thanks for the picture, then and now lol, how did they smoke in the end? Also, if there was no name on the original post I would have no idea who it was, I think the penetration of some US sports into Europe is quite (and surprisingly) minimal considering how food and other aspects have transferred. I genuinely don't think I could pick out any famous grid iron, basketball, hockey, baseball players by face alone. I know names but faces, not a chance. Apart from Dennis Rodman, but that's because he is known for other things. 1

CaptainQuintero Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 You'd think at 27 I would stop seeing myself as internally around 15. The noises I make when sitting down/standing up would point otherwise lol! Maybe I just need to start reading softer foods and get a nice sensible chair. Maybe that's the thin end of the edge! Who needs short term memory anyway, I can remember names and numbers! For some reason birthdays are an issue though lol! 1
