Tried a few Bolivar Petite Coronas and was wowed by the flavors in such a small cigars.

What should I looks for next in the Bolivar line?

What should Rob find some prime stock in the Bolivar line?

Royal Corona - Standard Bolivar Taste

Tubos No. 2 - My personal favourite

Tubos No. 3 - an excellent ass kicking!

Corona Gigantes - Never had one younger than 3 YO but at 3, they're one of the most flavourful ones out

Belicoso Finos - brilliant when young. brilliant when aged. I'd let sit for at least a year, though

Libertadores - Can start a whole new thread on these rollercosters of a cigar consistency...

Visit your local B&M for:

Bolivar Simones - Bloody amazing. If you find them for $23 each at local stores, good price too.

Bolivar B2 - I'd choose the Corona Gigantes over these, though. But try for yourself!

Bolivar is an awesome cigar. If you liked what you tried you should also try out the Bolivar Corona Junior. And ring size but shorter and full of wonderful flavor. ..

Also the Royal Corona is da bomb.....

To me si far out of evening I have tried Bolivar cigars are 2nd to none!!

I would hope your building a stock of the PC's because you can never have enough of them if you liked them.

I would recommend the Coronas Gigantes, for myself both great Boli's and then Coronas Juniors. For myself those three cover the essentials.

As mentioned if you can find Simones they are great and if you find them at $23 in a B&M in BC please let me know, I am near the end of my last cab.

For me it's the BPC and the corona Gigantes for regular prod.

BBF after that, but they seem plagued with under and overfills

I've tried very hard to like the BRC, to no avail. Bad luck maybe, but I've tried for years. They keep tasting like burnt dirt at some point in the smoke. Strange, I know, but it's the only Boli I get that from.

petit corona

corona ( good luck finding any ... but worth it if you find some )

gold medals ... i dont know yet ... there arent any with enough age to make a call .

the petit coronas are the most difficult cigar for me to age ( closely followed by the party shorts ) .

Bbf's are great but I LOVE the corona juniors. Fantastic. I've got two about two years on my box and they're delicious (to me, at least). And they're cheap(er). Let me know if you wanna try.

By far my favorite brand. Don't know why they don't get more hype. Generally intense with earthy, very manly flavours and a kick to boot. When I joined FOH someone posted to the effect that they could not bring themselves to smoke cigar with a pic of PeeWee Herman on the band. Funniest post ever.

I remember, a few years ago, on an other big forum, a guy asked, in a Bolivar thread, "who's the the guy on the Bolivar's band?" and he wasn't even joking... scary!

Well that's a stoopid question, of course it is Fidel's grandpa.

Got four boxes of the PC based on botls general comments. I should be able to age a few :)

How do they evolve through aging?

Got two boxes of the Junior as well, prepping for the winter which has already started it seems...

Bolivar does a range from earthy to citrus. The Royal Corona is a great way to feel out the brand, as it has a little of everything about the marca. Bolivar is also an easy marca to buy offhand, because it has great factory consistency for the most part - just need to watch out for the odd Belicoso Finos.

I find the corona junior to be better than the petit corona. Likely my fav minuto. Royal corona is a very straight up consistent stick. Havent had enough of the rest to comment.

As you can see from my avatar, Bolivar is my favorite marca. I like them all. Very solid consistency throughout the range, except the occasional BBF like MK said, and also the odd box of BPC. I know many loved the Bonitas, but that may be the only Bolivar I did not like. The Corona Extra is my favorite of the bunch. Harder to find now. Wish I had more....

I've tried very hard to like the BRC, to no avail.

You and me both my brother.

Had a Short Bolivar yesterday evening. Would have preferred slightly more resistance on the draw but, asides from that, it was an excellent cigar. Had me longing for more.

Hard to go wrong with this particular marca.

Can't go wrong with Bolivar. They are all great.

My advice.. start with your favorite sizes and work from there.

Stop it everyone!
Just admit that Boli's are terrible and no one should buy them.....that way there would be plenty for me.

But with my luck Habanos SA would just kill them off like so many other great cigars :)

My order of preference is

BPC

BCjr

BCG

BRC

BBF

and I keep them all in rotation with multiple boxes of the PC & Cjr as they are easy to reach for and go with almost any beverage, meal or time of day (after lunch that is).

Had a ton of fun with a co-worker who is a new brother of the leaf...had him sample across the boli line so he could get a feel for the core profile in a marca and yet how it changes across sizes. Great experiment.
