dicko Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Hello all, how are the recent magnum 50's smoking? Tubed or no? Thanks in advance Enjoy your smokes! Dicko
Duxnutz Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Me too Dicko. Loving Churchills of late and racing through my stocks of larger format cigars.
LordAnubis Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'll let you know on Sunday mate, having a herf on site on Saturday night and got a 10 count of HQ Mag 50s from Mr Ayalla we will be smoking through.
Puros Y Vino Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Smoked a few of my 2009 batch. They're really coming along. Developed some savory notes to go along with the baking spice. Im a Mag50 fan. Good fresh and even better with age.
imangelo Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Got some freshies. Tried one so far...meh. Will let them age at least two years before I try another.
mikek Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I still have some from 2013,they smoked great ten days off the truck! I'll try and find the box code for you the few I have left I put in my singles humi!
BehikeLover2 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Fresh tubos are awesome. Sometimes a bit bitter at the end. If you want outstanding ones, try to get a 09 box.
hulklogan Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Have had 3 freshies, all excellent with the first one being outstanding. Right up there with the E2 for best cigars smoking fresh.
BBS Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Fresh ones I've had so far have been VERY good....got a couple 10-boxes that are taking a nap, but the one I got into is as serious risk....
subport Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 As Rob has stated many times lately they are ON. The last 8-9 months were extremely good. I have a box from january this year but have yet to crack. Arrived 3 weeks ago and I dont open before 30 days settled in my environment. Taste-wise you will get hot and cold here. Some of us like the sharp edgy fresh cigars while the others dont. (I do) The best way is find out yourself. Get a 10 counts and decide. ;-)
HaterProof Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Buy a box - you will not be disappointed... Fantastic cigar -Matt
earthson Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Definitely a larger size than I normally smoke, but this is one of my favorites. I'd second the 2009s if you find them, otherwise 12 and 13 were great - stone fruit, spice, and nice wood already.
Maplepie Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I enjoy them ROTT. Very strong woody feel that i keep forgetting is a 50 ring gauge. Man, i'd love one now if it wasn't nearing midnight...
SMQQKIN Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I have a box of (HQ) SOE Apr 12s (tubeless) and smoked a couple mid 2013 and they were just OK. Grabbed one the other night and was impressed with how they are coming along. I found it to be flavorful (coffee, almonds & a little twangy) with good smoke production. I am anxious to see how they progress over the next couple of years.
JHands Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I think they are doing rather well right now. Outstanding construction and flavor, young. Pou may 13 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
airtrade Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Just sprung for a box of ten. Really hope there up to the hype! 1
godpheonix Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 only had one, from a 2011 box. was good but had a draw issue with it though so not sure how much it affected the taste. i was expecting more so will try another soon hopefully they are not all gonna have that draw issue.
Geo17pip Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Anyone have any experience with the 2008 Tubos? The ones I have had from 2011 were great.
EES Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89254 I just ordered 08's because of this review. Hard to say how they are today. Good I hope.
EES Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89254 I just ordered 08's because of this review. Hard to say how they are today. Good I hope. Yeah, these were good. Glad I got them.
dowjr1 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Had a bad 10 box a while back...gave most away. Pale in color and very meh on the flavors. Recent pics look like a completely new cigar...dark and oily. Makes me want to revisit.
TiminBC Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Bought a 10 count last year. The first was like straw. The second months later might have been top 5 for me. Since then generally good. Ordered a box of 25 awhile back but have not tried them yet.
RijkdeGooier Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Smoking 2008 50Cab on a semi regular basis at one of my regular waterholes. These are excellent at the moment. The younger ones lack the typical Upmann depth IMO 1
