Armaniac Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Homeland and Blacklist. Great shows. Both in between seasons now.
mncz Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Some great television has been mentioned here. I've never been one for TV much. If I do watch a series, I try only to spend my time with high quality material.Having said that, I now daresay that you're all living under a rock –––––– MAD MEN is the best show on television right at the moment. It's a period piece depicting Manhattan's Madison Avenue's advertising district in the 1950's and 1960's.Business everyday. Sexy women and constant adulteration. Money and office politics. Impeccable scripts and filmography. Wonderful, enveloping character development and tension-building.but what else would you expect from the direct successor to the Sopranos? From Netflix (I thought these bits summed it up quite well):"Set in 1960s New York City, this series takes a peek inside an ad agency during an era when the cutthroat business had a glamorous lure."A great (and the highest-rated) user review on Netflix gives a great description: "Is this the only TV series in the world where no one plots to murder anyone, like ever? Bravo! Seems the show recognises human beings have many other vices other than the one to kill, and it does exploit them all. It wasn't until seeing this show that I finally understand the 1969 Bowie song "All the Madmen" from the album "The Man Who Sold the World" (who name is apparently Donald Draper!)." I'm obsessed. Before this, it was Breaking Bad. I don't expect to ever watch anything better than Breaking Bad, but Mad Men is certainly giving Vince a run for his money. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_MenThey do receive the occasional box of Bolivars to the office, too. All I can say is drop the crap you're following now and pick this up. The last half of the final season – 7 – will be airing in the begining of 2015 (the first half of season 7 just ended last week or so). It's an AMC program. Enough of my blabbing, just give it a try if you really want to watch something unique and compelling.

Skyfall Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I can't believe no one is watching Fargo. I think it's a great show. Fargo is great! It blows my mind also that more people aren't watching Hannibal on NBC. ONE of the best shows in recent years all around. Freaking amazing cast! The season 2 finale (a couple of weeks ago) was one of the most mind blowing, amazing season finales of any show ever on TV. If anyone hasn't given Hannibal a shot, go start Season 1 now! And Ray Donovan also for that matter = Awesome Show, Awesome Cast!
IPORTER Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Good shows;- 1) Boardwalk Empire 2) Game of Thrones 3) Criminal Minds Agree with you Rob. Cannot hack the reality crap. It is terribly embarassing and insulting to the intelligence.
dicko Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Currently- Generation Kill (about Iraq war same people that did The Wire) Peep show (UK dark comedy about two losers-in-life flatmates) Hell on wheels
Ghabanos Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Sorry to go against the grain here. But I feel tv is making me stupid!! Nonetheless I'm already addicted but trying to cut down. I think I'm more selective now. Mad men, but this is last season already. Penny dreadful Suits Whit collar Californication
assassin Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I am watching "Boardwalk Empire" on Netfilx. I'm in the middle of season four and it is an excellent show. After this I am going to watch "The Wire", which I have heard some say was the best cable show ever made. Yes Boardwalk Empire is great----unfortunatly here in Australia we only got season 1 about 3 years ago since then nothing--shafted again!
aes8 Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 If you haven't watched The Wire, get on it. Be careful though, it's more addictive than crack. Also, The West Wing is a ripper show in my book. This although both have ended quite a while ago. Currently GoT is the best current TV Drama
Colt45 Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Mr. Selfridge - 2nd season recently ended New season of Masterchef Though I hate to admit it, Hell's Kitchen

Where do you find the time?!?! 1
Fuzz Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I watch half this stuff at work! Aren't you meant to be busy watching dials, gauges and stuff when flying?
Ken Gargett Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 will have a think but can anyone explain to me the appeal of 'suits'? i have tried and tried - even have it on in the background at the moment. greatest load of tripe and superficial rubbish ever. i know some lawyers hate "legal" shows but personally i usually enjoy them (i've worked on three continents and this show is so utterly removed from the slightest connection to the real legal world). but this one is empty of plot, likeable characters, humour, reality... not empty of boredom. two blokes, one of whom 'had a friend fake his harvard degree and admission as a lawyer' wander about telling everyone how good they are. cases are won with a clever quip at the last moment. no one is ever seen doing work. the secretary is some sort of savant genius. they pick up michael phelps in a bar and immediately make him their client. they are all connected to every useful person on the planet. more reality in 'game of thrones' and a show that is a million times better. sorry, but this is the emperor's new clothes of the tv world. 1
WilkINStheWEST Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Always Top Gear UK, I can watch the back catalogue over and over. Game of Thrones Californication House of Cards Arrested Development It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia The Walking Dead Sent a long time ago from a Galaxy S5 far far away.
