Last night I was with family, we had a few gin and tonics, then some white wine with our baked salmon fillets, then my nephew, brother-in-law and I went into his bar room to smoke. We each had a Hoyo pyrimide, with some red wine. Half way through the smoke it felt as if I was at Woodstock eating the brown acid. I was not in a good way. This has happened to me perhaps 8 times in the last 20 years. Was it the cigar, the mixing of the booze or an off night for me? I hadn't had a smoke for about 3 weeks due to a bad cold. I know others have had similar experiences, I have read about them in posts over the years. What's your best guess, other than I should take off my skirt.

Nicotine rush mate...

Usually happens by accidental inhalation.

Remember accidentally inhaling a huge puff when smoking a boli pc...

Interesting.

That happened to me a few years ago with a RyJ tubo

I was so ill i was fetal in the shower.

No sure what caused it, but it has been known to happen.

Maybe it was a bad roll or leaf...

Only happens when I take a few months off from smoking and then smoke something like a CoRo, RyJ SC, or rich EL. Other than that, the Monte No.2 GR knocked me on my ass.

Also, never mix hard alcohol (or strong mixed drinks) with wine. Bad bad combo.

Had a fresh rass that socalsmoker gave me which was my 3rd cigar of the night a couple weeks back and it sent my head into a spin for a couple hours, that scoundrel!

heyy Dan! seems like we do have a lot to talk about regarding RRs and GRs! :)

i found the Monte GR to be a great smoke but they were light bodied. no monte spice at all. i could probably have smoked 4 of those in a row and still be aching for a Bolivar Corona Gigantes. (note: the flavours were fckn amazing, don't get me wrong)

Agreed.

There is an old french proverb: "Blanc sur rouge, rien ne bouge ; rouge sur blanc, tout fout le camp" (white on red, nothing moves, red on white… you puke!)

I've been doing some research on this because I've noticed alcohol hits me harder when I'm smoking a cigar. Finding several articles that say nicotine and alcohol both mess with blood sugar. And by the end of a full strength cigar your liver has exhausted enough reserved sugars that you will get sick feeling. The articles suggest drinking orange juice or at least something sweet, similar to what happens in a diabetic reaction. Unfortunately caffeine adds to the problem as well. I've been working on changing my diet so I can still enjoy all three, coffee, alcohol and a good cigar, not necessarily in that order!

Bad nicotine hit combined with alcohol.

Had an Anejo that put my on the bathroom floor for several hours. Was my third smoke of the day along with a couple drinks. It was not a fun experience

I don't know if this was a contributor. I am usually all over the board when it comes to drinking with my cigars. However, I do not usually mix red and white wines on the same night.

An empty stomach can do it or if I have not smoked any cigars in awhile I have had that happen from time to time. More so with NC's years back when I used to smoke them. Some of the pricey Padrons put me on the bathroom floor quite a few times.

I never drink alcoholic beverages with my cigars because to me they cancel each other out. It's either one or the other. I only drink an iced herb tea with my smokes.

Always have a little bit of sugar, that's my excuse for ordering cobblers, chocolate tarts and creme brulee sup @hiro lol

HAHA....That happened to me last month. Showered, sat in front of the fan for about 15 minutes, and I was good-to-gook.gif

Don't mix alcohol with the reading of Ken's posts….! You will either experience these symptoms or absolute clarity!

If clarity is the result, you really need professional help. -LOL

The same can be said about reading my posts. You just don't need the alcohol to get the symptoms!
