Help me pick a box of Partagas?

Hey all, I'm looking to purchase a box of Partagas shortly, and I'm having a terrible time deciding between the Serie D No. 4 and the Serie P No. 2. Any input on which one you'd go for, and why? Thanks!

The aged D4s I have are definitely weaker than a nice fresh one. D4s in my opinion are better fresh

The D4 and E2 are my two favorite in the partagas family.

I like both and D4 has been better in 2012 than previous years in my opinion. To me P2, although good it is not overly complex, in my opinion.. However, maybe try some singles to know what your tastes are and go for a box later. I won't buy D 4 blind, in fact only certain codes. Personally, I love shorts fresh and 898 with age. D4 and P2 are in my collection but I reach for shorts and 898 more often.

Thanks for all of the input everyone! I'm open to the 898s that were suggested...may end up trying them as well! Regarding not buying blind, how do I go about that? Place an order and mention I want a handpicked box? Sorry, I've only made a couple of orders so far and am not experienced yet.

If you have not tried them yet. I would suggest a sampler or just buy singles of all. They are on *****int site. If you register you can look at the list. Hope that helps.

Agree about the 898s. However, 12 days of Christmas is on and I would bet D4s will show their face in either 10 or 25 boxes. Because the quality has been questionable, Rob likes to put good ones out there when he comes accross them.

I've just opened a box of D4 from May 13 which I got from El Pres, outstanding. It was a box of 10. Also have a box sitting from Jun 13

Ran thru a box of May 13 D4's (10 ct) in October. They were great. Get some HQ from El Pres and I think you'll be pleased.

I've been lovin' on the Serie C 3. I've had quite a few and haven't had a bad one yet.

D4 are all over the map. But I did just get a box and had my first last night that was pretty awesome.

An HQ from Rob is good advice.
