jimb2u Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I came into work this morning expecting the usual tedious tasks with a hope to potentially receive a package from Di later in the afternoon. I was very pleasantly surprised when a very good friend and BOTL came in to tell me about his trip to Jerusalem last week and handed me a gift of a box of the 2011 Israel Regional Edition Ramon Allones Short Robusto. What a great way to start off my week! I am very fortunate to have generous friends and will post a review when I try one of them ( with him of course) in a week or so when they have had some time to settle after their trip Cheers Jim
maverickdrinker Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 beautiful way to start the week. Congratulations. Smoke them in good health.
CanuckSARTech Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Very cool. A mighty good friend - a huge kudos to that person as well! Enjoy them well. Cheers.
Paul3 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 A great way to start the week indeed! If only all Monday's were as good. Enjoy.
Bartolomeo Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Very nice and looking forward to hooking up soon in Boca
ritan Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 What an awesome start to the week. I hear so little about this release. Look forward to you sharing your thoughts of this petit robusto.
Stanislaw Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 A rare find and great score, nice! Sme feel these petit robustos to be gimmicky but I'm a huge (no pun intended) fan and have collected a bunch.... Let me know if you'd be down to a meet up/trade, I'd love to try a few of those!
finecigar Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Now I need more friends like that! LoL enjoy them in good health , they look lovely
ama Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 That is a very expensive box of cigars (relatively). Around $450.
ironchefscott Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Very nice start to the week! I look forward to the review.
jimb2u Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Most unique warning stickers ever! Enjoy! There are further warnings in Arabic on the bottom of the box and also an annoying store sticker that covers up the box code
canadianbeaver Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Well this thread just cost me $500. An e-mail to Brill Cigar in Tel Aviv and that's all she wrote. Todah Rabah (thank you in Hebrew)... Thanks a lot ?... J/k I am thrilled! By the way, under the G on the label on the bottom, as far as I can make out, it says 25 Cigarim Cubanim in Hebrew, plural for Cuban Cigars
jimb2u Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 The boxes I saw were had OGA codes. Thanks for the info. BTW, I smoked one of these with my friend who brought them to me and I was a little underwhelmed by the flavor. To be fair, since we smoked them very soon after they travelled and they are very young, I have decided to put these away for a little while and hold off on a review until they have some time to rest.
