El Presidente Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Yesterday I had a distraught Gentlemen who asked me to confirm if the below Behike 56 were fakes. i really do hate e-mails like the one I received. You know that you are going to break someones heart. Many of us were there once upon a time. Friends going to Cuba or South America and the chance of picking up some great cigars only to find out that not knowing any better they were duped. Thankfully it is not fatal. Lesson learned.
Trevor2118 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Nice packaging. Pity about the heads and the cellophane, but the bands look good from a distance.
Scdalak Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Art, those look a lot like your BHK's you are about to smoke..
canadianbeaver Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Those look amazing, for fish and chips.
Ryan Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I wonder if those bands were made in Cuba. If so, I'd love to see it being done. I hope he didn't pay too much for them.
Colt45 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Kind of reminds me of this: http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=108041&hl
Drguano Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I have a friend who has been giving me fake BHK 56s for over a year. He buys them from his "contact" in bundles of 25 for about $500. I keep telling him that they do not come in bundles of any sort and definitely not 25, I showed him the nice black lacquer box and velvet bag that they should arrive in and yet he still goes for the bundles of 25. You can lead a horse to the humidore...
PigFish Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 ... the real question is, do they taste any better than the original? Oh, Rob... Can I have the guys email address. I have the map for the Lost Dutchman mine and I thought I might email this guy before I put it on eBay! That is unless you want to verify it first? Cheers! -Piggy
CaptainQuintero Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Seeing lots of great fake bands on the net with these, obviously someone is spending time making them look good, or they are just easy to fake. Not sure why they dont just knock together some lacquer boxes for them too.
Colt45 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Seeing lots of great fake bands on the net with these, obviously someone is spending time making them look good, or they are just easy to fake. Or perhaps the counterfeiters are getting their hands on real bands....
Orion21 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I know a guy that probably buys from the same "source". Bundles of 25 for around $500. He's such a pompous $%^&* that I have held my tongue for the past two years. God knows what he is smoking, but they aren't real Behike. And considering this guy has "over 500 boxes" of Cuban cigars in his "collection" I doubt he has smoked a real Cuban cigar ever.
rcarlson Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Tsk, tsk. Well, I have had a couple of fake Behikes that were actually enjoyable. Maybe he can chalk it up as a lesson learned and still enjoy them.
