cottierm Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 300 CC in my humidor and 20 boxes or so in my coolidor. Considering my smoking habit (2 or 3 cigars per week at the most), I suspect that I have a sufficient stock to last me for around three years. That said, numbers are totally unimportant because you can have as many sticks as you want, you will always want more of some or discover new ones!!! This never-ending run for more is called an 'addiction'. Best, Michel
Mr.T Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I think I'm at about 270 sticks of CCs. My only strategy is what and how much I can cram into my Aristocrat at any one time...it's like a game of cigar tetris
gersonmorelli Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Somewhere around 525 cigars and around 150 in transit. Just can't get enough.
Zigatoh Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 ~1000, not done a count in a while, still buying faster than I smoke em, only smoke 1 or 2 a week
ramon_cojones Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 rushman that is my strategy as well Count: who knows and yep never enough Strategy: can't stop the cop In addition, I'm not invested heavily in many brands except ra, cohiba and partagas. I do enjoy different smokes as a change of pace so I have a sprinkling of upmann, hdm, jl, erdm, pl, qdo and soon rg. Brands I don't see myself purchasing are montecristo, bolivar, ryj, trini, and punch.
canadianbeaver Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Lots. Lots and lots. No wait. Plenty?
Diamondog Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 After a 7k divorce lawyer bill this month, 7k less than there could have been.....OUCH
Lotusguy Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 A few more than I would admit to in a public forum Still have a never-ending "want to buy list". I smoke what I want, when I want it.
kiwiman911 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 just did a countjust to see and it turns out I have 402 about 92 nc and the rest Cubans. I want to get to around 1000 with 500 or so just for aging and the rest to smoke. I smoke what I feel like smoking and that's it. so better start buying to get to where I want to be

baragh Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I have a few... I have no strategy. I used to buy what I could afford when I had the desire. Since most of the cigars I like are no longer made, I make due with what I have hoarded over the years. I have no limits. I smoke what I want when I want. The biggest hindrance is knowing that I will never be able to replace my stock. Secondarily I gift less do to that fact. While some of my favorites are still made, I no longer have the zeal for the hunt like I used to have. Most of the newer cigars are either larger than I have a taste for, or are EL's and other unproven over priced items. Everything else in the catalogue I have smoked. There are no new doors to open. The EL hunt is futile and disappointing, not to mention expensive. New 50+ ring cigars are light in weight, easy drawing and typically insipid. If I am going to smoke cigars that taste like they came out of a tobacco 'blender' I might as well just buy the cheapest ones that I can buy! When I get back to buying cigars it will be only to continue to stockpile 42 ring and under cigars. I will probably simply buy multiple boxes of the few that I now favor. -Piggy Yep, even though I'm a comparative newbie, I can see over the next few years I'll reach a similar situation. I know this has been discussed at length on this forum, but the quirky and different vitolas that to me gave the habanos range a lot more character and depth seem to now be old relics. I would be unlikely to ever come across most of them except on Trevor's site. Unfortunately it seems the existing range is a lot more homogenous now. Although I'll always smoke cc's I'd have to agree with you Ray, the focus will shift from exploring to just smoking what I know I'll enjoy. I've made peace with that though, and my wallet I think will be a lot happier for it. I'm sure there will be the occasional release that will get me excited (RG Perlas anyone?) and heck I'm sure some of the RE/EL's I'd wanna try too, except that I'll be paying a 50% premium for that extra band! But on the other hand, I think life is a lot more random than we expect, you never know what might happen over at HSA in the future (or even NC manufacturers). Until then I'll just keep an eye out for any unloved long and skinnines I can pick up to try.
cybermadhatter Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I smoke way too much, (is that good or bad?), maybe 1200 a year. so I have about 3000 cuban cigars. some are still sealed and aging, and need some time-- Noellas Jar, Portmann Jar, 1995 HU Aromaticos, RA Eminencia, 03 Mag 46, and others.
Ralph78 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Only about 25 but I only just got my Humi about 4 days ago. Plan to try have 100+ by Christmas.
Dbone Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Somehow I've leveled out just to the capacity if my humidor, and a few more squeezed in. Word of advice, don't buy a large humidor, unknowingly (that's my story) you'll fill it to the gills LOL until you run out of room. Eventually you'll get 2 or 3 boxes in and realize you have NO more room / panic / then you start smoking cigars like a mofo just to make room. I miss the days of my 75 count table top, well, it's kind if a love / hate thing. Keep on smoking the good stuff

I was barely able to keep the lid closed on my tupperdor but now it feels so empty. I think my strategy will be, stock up right after summer, hibernate them until next spring/summer, blow through the stash during summer, and repeat.
LGC Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Never have counted. I just like playing Tetris with 3 large coolers. I always find stuff that I forgot about.
Vortigan Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Approx 350 sticks.About 85/15 Cuban/NC No strategy whatsoever.I'm a pretty sporadic smoker,2 or 3 week sometimes and then sometimes months without,it's very much a mood thing.Just about at capacity for the current space so probably marching toward the inevitable expansion!
ZinZan Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I think about 300-400. Can't believe I just started 2 years ago. Started from 120 count humidor, a couple of tupperdor, a Coleman and I just got 28 bottle cooler a couple of months ago, its already full.
Nicko Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Started around three years ago and got hooked - badly! Am now at over 2500 sticks. Initially 80 - 90% NC. Now, after a great and very productive Cuban trip am at around 50/50 and heading fast towards a vast majority of CC's. Smoking at least 2 NC to 1 CC should help to change the balance
PoohBore Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I think I have circa 700 Cubans and roughly 300 non Cubans. I've tried on 2 occasions to get a full inventory but failed to finish it off. I I think it's time to do it properly
Jnaube Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 412, all cubans... And 12 Partagas A (dominicans)
