Was just thinking...do any of you buy boxes to save for special occasions in the distant, distant future? i.e: for your 50th birthday which is in 20-25 years...you get the idea Just curious...

I have boxes that commemorate the month and year of:

My college Graduation

My Wedding - to smoke on distant Anniversaries

My 30th Birthday - to smoke on distant landmark Birthdays

My Son's Birth - to save and smoke with my son when he turns 21, graduates college, get's married, and the birth of his own children (20+ years)

I have identical boxes from my wedding that I plan to enjoy on anniversary dates.

Rob is in search of a box for me from the month and year of my wedding, which I will only smoke on future wedding anniversaries.

I'm too young to have boxes for these special occasions because none of them have happened yet ha but I do plan to do the same and have special cigar which commemorate birthdays, anniversaries and such

I have some partagas 150s that I am saving for some future birthdays. Already have about 17 years of age on them at this point and the first one I smoked on my 29th birthday was awesome.

2010 grand edmundos to commemorate my son's birth and to share with him in the future as well as to commemorate my daughters 10th birthday (I wasn't into cigars in 2000)

Need to figure out what to buy to celebrate my 40th birthday this year.

X2, although I do keep a box of CoRos mostly for special occasions. Part of the enjoyment comes from savouring something that you don't have everyday.

Also planning on picking up a box of something that will age well to smoke each year on my son's birthday (Dec 2011). If something happens to me, he can always have them!

I do have "birthday boxes" with the birth months of all three of my children. Have not been able to find a box with my birth year even and don't expect to since there were no real date stamps back then.

Hump day should be celebrated with a cigar and a wind down into the weekend. I say it counts.

- Anniversary... Fundadores from 1998 (Does not reflect the year)

- Graduation... LA GLORIA CUBANA MEDAILLE D`OR No.1 from 1996 (used to be my bday smoke but was demoted after buying the Davidoffs)

- My children after delivery smoke (1 in the way "anytime now" and planning for 2 more).. Cohiba Gran Reserva

- My 1st born birthday smoke.. La Flor De Cano short robusto (UK RE) until I score a Cohiba Esplendido from his/her birth month/year (April 12)

Yeah I have boxes for my son's birth month/year. thats it. the rest I smoke when I want to. Like Colt said, with what has happened to Guy, Van, Chuck, Tommorow is never guarenteed. Everyday above ground is a good day, a reason to celebrate life.

Nope. I have a single from the year was born which was gifted to me, and am saving it for my 40th birthday. Other than that, they're all to smoke any old day. I have some for my kids' birthdays, but don't really want them smoking, so I enjoy them. If there are some left when they turn 18, we'll see.

If your wallet is normal. meaning you think $500 US is a bunch for a box of cigars, I'd go with a box of Esplenditos.

Next might be Siglo VI, Tubos might be fun.

Those RA Extras supposedly have the legs to shine for the long term.

I smoked a 10 year old Lusitania a while ago. I know there are better cigars, but wow, it was fantastic.
