cckandb24 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Worked on my dads 10 or 15 rental houses. Dead beats trash the place and move out in the middle of the night. we would come in and paint and do carpet. 12 years later I own a successfully remodeling company.
Bcrowell Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 bagging groceries for 4 dollars an hour with minimal tips. If I was lucky I made 4$ in tips a day. I walked to work and had no girlfriend so I could still afford a 10 gallon fish tank that I still use 20 years later.
Hemsworth Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I worked at the family blueprint shop in downtown Montreal. Sweeping and cleaning, stock boy, garbageman, counter person, copier and used ammonia disposal expert (sorry, mother earth) for $3.00 an hour. Oh...and occasional bum wrangler. Wait...that came out wrong.
carnivalhobo Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 cutting the grass around headstones in a cemetery...yeah really.

Habanakane21 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 (NFL) Besides a summer job at a local car dealership (driving customer back home/work after they drop their cars off for service)...My first full time job was playing professional football. Was a pretty great gig at 22 years old.
CaptainQuintero Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 In the back of a pub on Sundays microwaving all the food, seriously everything was microwaved. Until then I never realised the actual way to cook steak was to seal it for 20 seconds on a skillet then put it into the microwave for 9 minutes The landlord was a cool guy though, was in the Falklands in the Royal Navy and would randomly bring down things like a pair of boots and give a story about how he jumped of his sinking ship in the and swam to shore etc..
laficion Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Worked as a papper boy at the age of around 13-14 years old and then as a part time apprentice salesman after high school classes in a menswear boutique selling shrits and ties , it was really cool. The store was called, "For Men Only" in downtown Paterson, N.J.

cigcars Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Got a summer job at age 14 where you have to get a work permit to be employed at that age, as office/clerical assistant in a social services center. First real job was at age 19 at the Kroger grocery store in Louisville working for a very crappy bullying boss. It was then that I learned that if you're around and especially working for someone with bullying tendencies it will increase the more you take it. I noticed the older (rough and rugged-looking) employees experienced no such treatment...it was us new young fresh faced innocent new hires who bore that treatment. I won't go into too much detail except to say yours truly called his bluff, mouthed back to him (to the disapproval of my mom who always sided with "authoritaahh" no matter what)- and despite his threats, kept that job - I was a pretty efficient worker.

LeafLover Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Worked at Subway Sandwiches making sandwiches at 15 years old. Was a knucklehead. Drinking with the manager in the back then going to the front making sandwiches laughing my ass off with the customers. Never stole or did the wrong thing, just messing around/having fun. I'm certain the customers loved my customer services. Got a couple dates out of it. Local junior college was across the street. 15 years later, karma came back to haunt me by giving me a few knuckleheads when I just started my business.
riazp Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 McDonalds, started off on the grill, 6 years later I was an assitant manager, then manager 1 year later, ended up working there for 10 years. It was a fun student job and ended up staying there after college cuz I enjoyed the management aspect of the job. Quit 3 years ago and to be honest I miss working there sometimes.

Blackham Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Pizza delivery boy when I was in high school, it was a relaxing job as I spent most of the time driving around town. Had my fair share of unusual encounters: delivered to a triad launder house; lavish bikini party and got a $100 tip; half nude flight attendants in their hotel room pillow fighting, etc etc.
